Heads always turned when Rose McCarthy walked into a room. Nearly six feet tall, she was ramrod straight, and impeccably put together with faultless style, long graceful legs, her snow-white hair cut in a chin-length rounded cap. Her piercing blue eyes missed nothing. She could terrify anyone with a few well-chosen, soft-spoken, eloquent words, or comfort and delight a young employee with generous praise. Summary
Ginny Carter was once a rising star in TV news, married to a top anchorman, with a three-year-old son and a full and happy life in Beverly Hills - until her whole world dissolved in a single instant on the freeway two days before Christmas. In the aftermath, she pieces her life back together and tries to find meaning in her existence as a human rights worker in the worst areas around the globe.
Then, on the anniversary of the fateful accident - and wrestling with the lure of death herself - she meets a boy who will cause her life to change forever yet again. Thirteen-year-old Blue Williams has been living on the streets, abandoned by his family, rarely attending school, and utterly alone. Following her instincts, Ginny reaches out to him. Leery of everyone, he runs from her again and again. But he always returns, and each time, their friendship grows.
Blue glows with outsized spirit and an irresistible mix of innocence and wisdom beyond his years. Ginny offers him respect as they form an unusual bond and become the family they each lost. But just as Blue is truly beginning to trust her, she learns of a shocking betrayal that he has been hiding. Is it a wound too deep to heal, or will she be able to fight the battle that will make them both whole again?
Blue is number one New York Times best-selling author Danielle Steel at her finest, a probing and emotionally gripping story of dark secrets revealed, second chances, and the power of love and courage to overcome life's greatest challenges.

Blue sad but true.
its sad but very true to life unfortunately. people in some instances can take out of sight, out of mind literal. Once seen is different though, once consideration is used but someone is missing out. Two very valid reasoning to both viewpoints. Seen through the eyes of Sister's who are miles apart in family as well as worldly views.

Blue isn't.
What made the experience of listening to Blue the most enjoyable?
A good plot well developed and I just knew there was going to be a happy ending.
What did you like best about this story?
How tragedy can create very strong bonds.
What about Alexander Cendese’s performance did you like?
The ability to feel what the characters were feeling.
If you could take any character from Blue out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Jenny. I want to hold her hand and tell her that the pain will eventually become less raw and more livable....it doesn't ever go away, but it does diminish.
Any additional comments?
Great Nora Roberts.

Striaght to the heart story telling.
I loved this story and to sum it up, you cant fix broken people but you can fill the cracks in ones heart and bring strength to another. This book kept me going striaght from the start and through to the end while the narrator led me through every emotion imaginable Steel, steals the heart again with a story that will linger on my mind for quite sometime. I want to listen again.

Enjoyable read but light - great for summer beach
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No.
Would you be willing to try another book from Danielle Steel? Why or why not?
No.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator had a pleasant voice, but was totally unable to make the dialogue between the characters believable.
Was Blue worth the listening time?
Yes because it was a quick and light book. The subject matter (mentoring a homeless child) was a very good premise. The plot was predictable. Too bad
Any additional comments?
This is the first Danielle Steel book that I've read/listened to. When I saw the great reviews, I was hoping for something more substantive. I like the plot premise but Blue was too perfect; thus it was easy to take him him nurture him along. The issue with the church was superfluous but it was a way to bring in the lawyer, who was also too perfect. I did like Ginny - she at least had some flaws and I found her believable.
