I found it a little long but overall I enjoyed it and would read or listen to another from this author

I enjoyed it

A bit too much unnecessary detail on occasion, and the narrator’s accent when changing into one particular character is irritating but overall a very good story. I’ll be looking out for more by this author.

Well worth a listen

I restarted it 3 times, but eventually I got in to it. A great storyline, hood narration, glad I stuck with it

there were parts that dragged but overall a very good book. I heard Angel of Death 1st. which was equally as gripping, so had to go back and listen to this one

liked the narrator and the twists and turns in the story kept me intrigued to listen in a short time.

excellent plot.

The plot is really engaging. Probably the fewest sessions I've taken to finish any novel . But with the characterisation, there could have been much less tell and more show regarding the "guilt" Way too much repetition and padding which actually killed the impact . Especially because it was written in the first person. The narrator's gritty, ominous voice was pefect casting though it grated initially and took a few hours to appreciate.

Nearly Awesome

A break from my normal ‘ detective ‘ books I listen to .. but what a fabulous book .. excellently written and narrated this book I very highly recommend

Oh my gosh

I really enjoyed the story. It was well plotted and the characters were good. The narrator was also excellent and brought life to the characters.

Excellent

It was a really good story with lots of twists and turns but ….

There were lots of really depressing sections with really depressing characters and really long descriptions which I didn’t think enhanced the story.

I usually really like this narrator but I’m sure not everyone in Sheffield speaks in slow and menacing whispers. Even the women who whisper away in every scene… and the men are harsh, violent, cruel and whispering! Ps the accent was good - even if it was in a whisper!

Soon and gloom and …. Hope
