Summary

The continuing adventures of Penelope Victoria Steele....

London in the 19th century of the Second Universe seems the perfect refuge for Penelope and Elizabeth. But instead of proving to be the green and pleasant England that they had so hoped for, the pair quickly find themselves embroiled in the machinations of mysterious figures, shadowy cults, and a book that promises to reveal the master plan of an alien enemy. Worse, Penelope discovers a side to herself that she had never known existed and becomes unsure if she, or it, will triumph.

More excellent writing and some fun new twists

More excellent writing and some fun new twists. Really enjoyed the further development of characters. There were some pieces I saw coming, but I tend to look for those. The story was written well and I enjoyed it.

Enjoyed this one more than the first. Very Fun!

I enjoyed the first book, but I liked this one more. More twists and turns and some pretty close calls. Again, there were a few points I saw coming well in advance but I also was surprised by a few bits.

There is A LOT of pieces in this one that tickled me and had me smiling. I'm a conspiracy-minded individual and some elements here are truth weaved into narratives.

I'm looking forward to reading the next book and see where Penelope will end up next.

Pros:
[x] Continuity is good
[x] Excellent writing
[x] Characters are likable
[x] Technology and Mythology of the story is awesome, in regards to the connective tissue between the ancient world and the new
[x] Love watching characters grown
[x] Aliens, Time Travel, Alternate Dimensions, Nazis, Twists and Turns... Fun Fun Fun. :)

Cons:
[x] Some of the story's proclivity towards certain pairing isn't my cup-o-tea but different strokes for different folks remains true here and I didn't mind it too much and just told myself, it's part of the mythology of the author.
[x] A little bit of cheese here and there but nothing too major.

Loved the narration and feel she's perfect for the main character and MOST of the other characters.

Would I recommend this book: Yes
