La Bhagavadgita ha valore di testo sacro, ed è divenuto nella storia tra i testi più popolari e amati tra i fedeli dell'Induismo.In questo testo è il dio stesso che parla, incarnato in un personaggio(Krisna) del canto, e risponde alle domande di Arjuna, essendo così l’unico testo sacro in cui il Dio spiega la propria dottrina. La traduzione qui adottata è di Oreste Nazari (1866-1923) fondatore della scuola torinese di indologia da lui fondata nella seconda metà dell'Ottocento.Completa il testo un commento del traduttore.
