About this listen

There was no passion to break her heart, no love to risk and lose. Marrying her boss, prominent businessman Cormick Grayson, was a very reasonable proposition for a woman who'd been hurt in love before. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement. At first. But something wasn't right.

Gray's eyes told her there was more to this than a polite, passionless marriage. But Gray's cool, impersonal distance left Amber wondering about the man she'd married. Amber never imagined she'd be the one demanding more, yearning to feel things she vowed she would never risk again.

This book couple was really fun. I don’t particularly think the writing was that exciting all though not boring. It just felt like the story had all the parts to make it a great book but it still fell a bit short. Hard to put my finger on why though. It kind of felt dispassionate in a way. Might have been the narration but liked that well enough too so can’t pinpoint it more than it didn’t quite reach all the way for me personally. Also must say I liked that it didn’t give the plot away by hinting at all the twists and turns so it got predictable. It kept surprising from time to time. Good and enjoyable enough still to give it a listen but not earth shatteringly great.
Also as mentioned, worth a listen for the hilarity of the couple portrayed. ☺️

A very funny couple

Made me smile at the silly poems. Read really well by the narrator. Nice story

If I’d not listened to and enjoyed previous recording of this author I’d have thought it was her first book.

Worst thing I have ever listened to!

Nope.

First of all: gahd both the MCs are so freaking boring.

Sorry that’s it. There’s no secondary or tertiary points.

I also found out this was written in the 80s? Maybe if I’d read it in the early aughts I might’ve thought this passable.

The only good thing about this is the VA
