Der zweite Fall für den legendären Kommissar Adamsberg!

Im Nationalpark Mercantour in den französischen Seealpen ist die Natur wild und ungezähmt, genau wie die Wölfe, die hier in Freiheit leben. Das gefällt nicht allen. Als nachts immer mehr Schafe gerissen werden, rebellieren die Landwirte – und bald kursiert ein gruseliges Gerücht. Sind die Schafe nicht einem Raubtier, sondern dem sagenumwobenen Wolfsmenschen zum Opfer gefallen? Dann findet man die Bäuerin Suzanne grausam ermordet im Schafgehege und Aberglaube wird zu Panik. Zusammen mit Suzannes Sohn sucht die Dorfbewohnerin Camille auf eigene Faust nach dem Schuldigen. Doch der scheint immer einen Schritt voraus und so entschließt sich Camille schweren Herzens, einen Mann aus ihrer Vergangenheit um Hilfe zu bitten: Kommissar Adamsberg, den verschrobenen und doch genialen Ermittler, der seine ganz eigenen Theorien zum Monster von Mercantour hat...
