About this listen
Do the holidays make you feel anxious? Are you weary of what the new year might bring? This should be a time of joy, family, gratitude, expectations, and celebration. But for many people, it can also be a time of stress and anxiety. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the holiday season, you are not alone. Don't feel like you're alone. You are not alone.
Tons of people, including me, feel overwhelmed by the holiday season, from end-of-the-year celebrations to New Year’s resolutions. You’re probably very familiar with the idea of a parent tucking their child into bed at night. They speak to their child in soft tone and in a slow, convincing manner. They chat softly. They read a bedtime story that describes a faraway land or a fantastic character. What is that parent doing? They’re shifting their child’s focus from the activity of the day into a more relaxed state. They are refocusing their child’s brain.
And it works! Because every night all over the world, parents use this technique to help their children fall asleep. Even though you are an adult, you can benefit from bedtime stories. It’s time to fully unwind. Let’s get started! I hope you fall asleep fast. Download now!

Varied
I tried this for the first time last night. It sent me to sleep and I woke to 'Alice in Wonderland'. Letting it run after I'd got up I suddenly tuned in Chapter 14 - fighting, revolvers, fearful dog, anger etc. I didn't like the content and towards the end I had to move on to Chapter 15 which was 'I want to talk to you all about relaxation'. Probably needed after the previous chapter. I went back to see what was in the previous chapters I'd slept through. I haven't checked them all yet. One was 'all about anxiety' and one, the narrator said, was 'humorous and all about a bratty child'. Didn't sound very sleep inducing to me either. It's a shame because the narrator has the most delightful voice. No good for an all-nighter but I may perhaps select certain OK chapters for shorter listens.
