Summary
Lila returned home to Pleasant Valley to give her half-shifter, half-human son a stable, loving home far away from the bad influences in the city. With her parents' guidance, she hopes to safely guide her son through puberty and his first volatile transition from boy to beast.
Grizzly shifter Stuart Watson wasn't looking for love while campaigning for reelection as county sheriff. However, there was no denying he'd met his match after his first encounter with Lila. The feisty brunette is everything he ever wanted in a woman. All he has to do is convince his reluctant mate and her rebellious son to give him a chance to prove his worth.
Before Stuart can stake his claim, Lila's life is endangered by the person she loves most. He races to rescue his mate, determined to save the day and safeguard their future.

Lila & Stuart
Stuart is the sheriff and is running for re-election Lila just moved back to town with her 14 year old that is getting into a lot of trouble and needs to be around other shifters because Lila is not one and he needs help. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Narration is great I definitely recommend this book.

An ordinary sort of paranormal romance
This is the second book in the series and characters from the earlier book make an appearance, though the story is standalone. That said, I preferred the first book more. There was more energy and action in the first book as well as more of a story.
Marlie Monroe has provided interesting characters with a lot of potential in this book, though the story itself was very ordinary/every day (without a lot of the fantasy usually associated with paranormal romances). I also found I was left with a few unanswered questions.
All said and done, while this book doesn't hit any bells for me, I think the series has the potential to be very interesting.

Enjoyed It
I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobook boom. I loved the story. The only issue I had was that the 14-year-old was allowed to curse not only in front of Mom but grandparents as well and no one brought him to task about this. Stewart was a very good influence and helped the teen to experience his first shift correctly. Although this was a shifter romance the sex did not overwhelm the story. I like romance but that should be paramount and not the sex. This book did a nice job with the details. The narrator was very good. I did not read book 1 but this one read well as a stand-alone.

Stuart and Lila
This is another great addition to the Pleasant Valley Shifters and is Stuart and Lila’s story. I love paranormal romance and this series does not disappoint. Each book is a quick easy listen.
David Quimby did an OK job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Cute story
I received this audio book free for an honest review. The story was cute. It had all the contents that a book needs to get you hooked from the beginning and keeps you interested until the end. Marlie Monroe does a great job with a short story. She doesn't leave you hanging in the end. I don't usually like many of the male narrators, but David Quimby does a great job, even with the feminine voices. You can definitely distinguish between the characters. I will look for more of her books.

Quick, Easy Listen
Any additional comments?
3.5 stars
Another entertaining installment in the series. Quick, fun, easy and enjoyable afternoon listen with a HEA.
If you don't like steamy romance in your story's this is not the book for you.
Being a teenager is hard to begin with, add in a new town, school, and the fact that in the near future you will experience your first shift. If that's not enough, on top of all that your mom is now dating the town sheriff.
Stuart's life is about to change. He has found his mate. He knew from the moment he first met her. Now he needs to convince Lila of this fact. Not only does he need to win over Lila but her teenage son as well.
David Quimby did a really good job with the narration as usual. Although I'm used to hearing him narrate westerns, his voice adds something extra to the story. Nice voice. Clearly spoken with a smooth even pace. Good character voices. Overall very enjoyable.

Romance in Unexpected Places..
Any additional comments?
I liked Lila, the female lead, and Stuart, the male lead.
There is a lot going on in the story line, an election, a troubled teen, first shifts, and
unexpected Mates.
This was an enjoyable read and I look forward to the rest of the series.
David Quimby did well with the narration as usual.

Standard shifter romance
Where does Bear Commitment rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I listen to a lot of books about 300+ a year so hard to rank.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Stuart. He was a big teddy bear.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Lila and Stuart finally get together and then deal with interruptions.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Fitting in with my big teddy bear.
Any additional comments?
This was a sweet story about a single mom, trying to care for a teenager acting out and also fitting in with a sweet bear of a man who's family was a bunch of snobs. It was a easy listen. I was given this audiobook for free from audiobook boom for my unbiased review.

This was a "miss"
The first one of the series was good, but this one fell flat. Characters were underdeveloped. There was more detail about mundane actions they took than there was regarding the plot.

just ok for me
I liked the overall story, I just thought it lacked depth. Although the narrator's voice and reading were pleasant, I just felt it didnt match the characters I imagined in my head.
