Summary

I Inherited a mining cabin with hot roommates in the spare rooms, and not so hot monsters in the mine!

Previously published as Monster Girls Love Mining Ore (And Battling Creatures Too) by Dave Ranger.

When I got the letter, I couldn't believe it.
When I drove down the highway, I still couldn't believe it.
And when I got there? I finally realized I had a purpose: breaking rocks with my crazy new roommates.

There's a beautiful ginger cat girl who cleans too much, a sexy monkey girl who knows how to party, and a cute owl girl who is a bigger nerd than I am.

And we're battling terrors of the dark. Turns out, some mythical monsters aren't hard to kill, even a bit enjoyable.

But I shouldn't get too comfortable. There's worse than low-level goblins in that mine....

But until I have to face that, I'll be chilling out with my girls, experiencing naughty fun, playing pool, video games, and having the time of my life. After all, what good is action if you don't get to relax after?

Another great story by Kirk Mason

Kirk Mason has become a staple of the genre with this being the 4th series of his I have either read or listened to and Battle Miner looks to be the start of another fun series.

The finds out that over a year ago his great-grandfather passed away and he has inherited a share of a house and the sole ownership of a mine. At this point in his life, he’s fed up a working as a civil servant and decides to the embrace the opportunity access the mine and make a fresh start.

It turns out the area encompassing the house and mine is a magical barrier which subtlety defers visitors is part of a village which house monster girl but with the mine being close for over a year has started to see a fall in activity. Now as the owner he is able to re-open the mine which was magically sealed prior to his arrival and decides to earn his fortune as he and his companions delve into the dungeon/mine.

If you’re a fan of stories such as Backyard Dungeon by Logan Jacobs where the MC dives into another world to obtain wealth (In this case, dive into a dungeon full of creature such as goblins to obtain gold) than you’ll love this story. It also has the twist of the area surrounding the mine being a village full of monster girls who can portal in from other worlds.

Melanie Hastings is amazing as always have just listened to Mud, Blood & Magic which she also narrated I can comfortably say she is one of the best in the genre.

pretty good

a good dungeon diving book. And a great blend of slice of life and adventure. A lot of magic and potions and stuff. really enjoyed it. Also, I haven't seen an owl girl before.

Good, though hard to judge

Struggled with the not quite slice of life setting, the mining theme and would have prefered a bit more detail in terms of the actual business of mining which was pretty much an afterthought, with monsters and whatnot.

Was well written and had nice characters but the whole monster girl town thing could have been a bit less forced imo.

Ok but lazy

As another reviewer said - it’s not really a slice-of-life, just another dungeon dive with a boss. Like the characters but would liked more progression. The plot is sloppy and the ending boring and bad. The magic strength potion is just lazy and sloppy. Not sure if I will continue the story, I might if I really don’t have anything else.
