Summary

Optimistic field notes from the new normal for nature.

One thing has become clear this year - we need nature more than ever. And although the natural world has never been more under pressure, there are still reasons to be hopeful.

Through personal stories, conservation breakthroughs and fascinating scientific discoveries, Back to Nature captures the essence of how we feel about the wildlife outside our windows. From the resurgence of storks in Britain to lesser horseshoe bats returning to the Isle of Man, to what we can do to encourage wildlife into our own spaces, whether that's a woodland, a garden, a balcony or our streets, it explores the wonder and the solace of nature and the ways in which we can connect with it.

Transported to a childhood world

It has been the greatest pleasure to listen to Chris and Megan’s new book. I have looked forward to it for months. The language is beautiful, poetic, I have have connected absolutely to your intoxication with nature. Thank you. All of you have inspired me to write my own book and nature podcast. Thank you

Informative, passionate & in line with other data

I've read Wilding and Rebirding & others of that ilk, and this falls in line in terms of data, information and passion. 5* for sure.

Superb narration from both and fascinating science. Heartbreaking yet hopeful.

Highly recommended!

Call to action

An inspiring look at the state of nature in the UK. If we are to have any hope for the wildlife and the environment of our country then surely this is where we must begin. I suspect that a lot of people are going to be upset by this book because this pair of brilliant campaigners and activists have systematically and intrinsically laid out the blueprint for the restoration of nature here i he UK.
This book should shock us all into action.

a call to action

this is a look at the state of wildlife and the climate by two people who are totally passionate about it. there are interesting facts and it asks you to ask questions of yourself as to what you can and should do. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the two authors' voices and it was an absorbing listen. highly recommended.

Thought Provoking and inspiring

Well narrated by Chris and Megan. Chris explains why what we see isn’t always what should be but what we have come to accept. A fabulous book on nature and how things could be so much better if we all look at the land and our own gardens in a holistic way. Thoroughly enjoyable listen. Will be tuning in again to this book.

Inspiring, thought provoking & just a dam good rea

Fantastic book, ginving us ideas on what we can do to work with nature, where people & organisations have gone wrong & what they could be doing. A dam good read & if we take some of these ideas on board, nature will be all the better for it.
I loved the fact that Chris does not shy away form telling us when big instututions & us Jo public get it wrong.
Go Chris

Depressing but should be read by everyone

The most depressing book I have listened to , but a book that should be read by everyone to highlight our own destruction. Particularly if you have children or grandchildren this is the book that should make you change and demand change.

Get involved

This is a fantastic book, with one main message - get involved. We all need to be part of the movement for change. As with most of these sorts of books, the people who read them are often already doing their bit. My message is to share it with those who are sitting back and doing nothing, or are burying their heads.
