🌿 In today’s readings, we are invited to reflect on the themes of selfless giving and trust in God’s providence. The first reading tells the story of the widow of Zarephath, who, despite her own need, shares her last bit of food with the prophet Elijah. Her act of generosity and trust in God’s promise is rewarded as her supply of flour and oil miraculously lasts, sustaining her, her son, and Elijah. Her example encourages us to place our trust in God, even when resources feel limited. 🌾

💫 In the second reading, we are reminded of Christ’s singular and complete sacrifice. Unlike the repeated offerings of the high priests, Jesus offered Himself once, a perfect and all-encompassing act of love for our salvation. This reading draws our attention to Jesus’ total self-giving, which inspires us to give with a full heart, knowing that His sacrifice covers all our needs. ✝️

💖 The Gospel presents the image of the poor widow whose humble gift of two small coins contrasts sharply with the offerings of the wealthy. Jesus praises her, not for the amount she gave, but for her sacrificial spirit; she gave "all she had." This shows us that true generosity is measured not by wealth but by the spirit and love with which we give. 🌟

Today, we are called to examine our own generosity. Are we willing to give of ourselves with trust in God, whether from our abundance or from our scarcity? The widow’s example shows that when we give wholeheartedly, God’s grace and providence are never far behind. 🙏✨
