Summary

Seduction in the sands...

Cabaret dancer Sylvie Devereux and Sheikh Arkim Al-Sahid have never seen eye to eye - not from their first antagonistic meeting to their last intoxicating kiss. And certainly not when she publicly stops his convenient society wedding to her beloved sister!

Now Arkim wants revenge on the sinful seductress who cost him the respectable reputation he needs.

Luring Sylvie to his luxurious palace in the desert, he'll get her out of his system once and for all. But with her sass and sequins stripped away, Sylvie is surprisingly vulnerable - and there's one last secret Arkim's not prepared for - her innocence!

A marriage for the monarch

One last New York night with Sofia Ramirez is all Prince Nikandros Constantinides allowed himself before returning to Akathinia after a dreadful accident took his brother's life. But before the royal rebel is crowned, Nik discovers that he didn't leave Sofia behind alone!

In a baby's heartbeat, Nik turns Sofia's world upside down and whisks her away to his Mediterranean kingdom. Dissolving a politically perfect engagement is not what Nik - or his country - had in mind, but this proud prince will do whatever it takes to legitimize his new rule - with a wife and child!

Books okay - Narrators, not so.

Both narrators were okay, I but I would choose not to listen to them read again.

Good

I liked both stories but the second narrator was monotone. I think for certain parts and lines people say in the book there should be a difference of the tone, and sometimes it just came as flat and emotionless, when instead it should be overflowed by it. Still besides that I was behind and hopeful (considering the circumstances) for the best throughout the story. The first narrator was impeccable and I couldn't recommend it more.

Both stories are just...okay

I usually like Abby Green but "Awakened by Her Desert Captor" was boring. The H and h weren't very interesting. Both characters were supposed to be so damaged by their fathers but it somehow didn't work. An odd plot point - the H is a sheikh that was awarded his title. His being a sheikh seemed pointless except to make this a "sheikh" story and have his hideaway in an oasis with an awesome tent.
I actually read "Carrying the King's Pride" as an e-book when it was first released. At the time, I found the story to be a typical Harlequin Presents. Alpha H, head over heels h and secret baby
Listening to the audiobook changed the story for me. The H seemed more of a beta than an alpha.

Good read

This book will keep you on your toes. Awakened but Her Desert Captor is awesome. Really wish it had a part two or had been twice as long. Thumbs up to the Author.
