Summary

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." - Proverbs, chapter 23, verse 7

First published in 1903, James Allen's literary essay became an inspirational classic. It shows how, in his own thought-world, each man holds the key to every condition, good or bad, that enters into his life, and that, by working patiently and intelligently upon his thoughts, he may remake his life, and transform his circumstances.

Please note: These are historical recordings. The audio quality represents the early 1900s technology employed and the acoustic environment where the events occurred.

Great content, terrible media

I couldn’t finish listening to this. The outdated cadence is barely comprehensible. Be sure to sample first.

Great Work

James Allen is a remarkable
storyteller. He makes the simple seem easy
with commitment and dedication to excel; you can have it all. Yet there are a couple of things you must do first: set what you want and aim for that one thing, and you can have it.

Not my cup of tea.

Wasn’t my cup of tea. I’m sure someone who needs help mastering their thoughts might benefit from it but I certainly am not that guy.

Additionally the audio sounds like it was recorded in the 60’s/70’s. Somebody could have and should do better.

terrible quality audio

Sounds like it was recorded in the 1920s and is very hard to hear. The message is good but I would seek out a different recording.

Deeply Insightful. Will re-read it many times.

Deep questions surge by listening to this book, such as:

1- What actions am I doing to be in sync with mind?
2- What is it that I am not seeing so I can internalize that my life is justly ordered?
3- How am I paving the road to be "swimming in a sea of calmness"?

Great listen, loved the fact that Audible kept the original verison narrated by Don Allen here.
