About this listen
This audiobook version of As A Man Thinketh is true to the original. Every word written by James Allen is spoken with clarity and authority by the narrator, making it easy to remember the information and absorb the timeless wisdom.
This short audiobook, originally published in 1902, has had a huge impact in the field of personal development. It is regarded as one of the most important books of the new thought era. It's written in such a way that makes it easy to understand the most powerful message you could ever learn.
The introduction of the audiobook summarizes the idea beautifully:
Mind is the Master-power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass.

I'm an atheist and books with a religious lean lose my attention very quickly. This book reflects the attitudes of the time so it has a religious tilt in the language used, however I did not feel that I was listening to a sermon.
The basic message is keep your mind good and pure and serenity will follow. It does not define any of these so it can be interpreted using your own moral compass and therefore used by most. The only people who are unlikely to benefit from listening to this book are those with a moral compass that justifies things that you know deep down are wrong.
