Dull

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

More interesting stories

What will your next listen be?

Still looking

How could the performance have been better?

Not sure. The reader didn't inject any "spark" into the prose, but the initial two stories were literally and metaphorically dry. Haven't listened further.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

thirst.

Any additional comments?

The ad promises Kipling, Dickens, Conan Doyle. Set out listening to a short story (droughtland) which went nowhere fast and then heard something about a family worried about a snake in the house.Stopped listening.
