About this listen
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of An Abundance of Katherines, from New York Times best-selling author John Green.
When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact.
On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has 10,000 dollars in his pocket, a bloodthirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun - but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl.
Love, friendship, and a dead Austro-Hungarian archduke add up to surprising and heart-changing conclusions in this ingeniously layered comic novel about reinventing oneself.
From the New York Times best-selling author of The Fault in Our Stars and Looking for Alaska, John Green. John has a huge online presence through his 1.1 million Twitter followers and YouTube channel Vlogbrothers, which has been viewed over 200 million times and has 660,000 subscribers, making it one of the most successful online channels in history.

Brilliant
I've listened to or read four John Green's Books now, and again he doesn't fail. This. As always, has been a pleasure to listen to.

Fantastic story of self-discovery
I completely lost myself in this tale, the story of Colin. Each of the characters are well developed and 3 dimensional and the story is well written. In my opinion this is the best of John Green's novels, though I am yet to read Looking For Alaska. In short, I'd highly recommend if you're willing to put invest some extra headspace into understanding Colin's psyche.

Well that was hard to put down.
I started this book, while taking a break from some programming. Went for a walk listen to this book at 1x speed.
When I got home I kept listening while doing some laundry, eating and when it was time to continuing programming. But I just sat down in my sofa and heard the rest of the book.
The story can be summed up in 2-3 lines, thus if you a looking for a book whit a good plotline to tell to your friends, this might not be the book. This book is about perception, potential, loneliness and friendship.
It might sound dray and borring, but this book is fun, it made me smile and giggle/chuckle out loud while I was walking and while I was doing my laundry and I dit not want to leve Gutshot so soon. What more can you as of a book.

The performance kept me going...
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would not recommend this to all friends, the story is quite dryly told. My other physicist friends may well appreciate it and any other people who enjoy irony. Not for those who are uninterested in random facts.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I enjoyed the ending, although it felt a little predictable.
What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I enjoyed his tones of voice, it was very clear who he was being at every moment.
Could you see An Abundance of Katherines being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
No, not really. The stars wouldn't be people I have heard of...

Enjoyed the characters
Don't buy this for the amazing plot or any great reveals but this is a great book with three main characters - Colin, Hassan and Lindsay - who you'll really enjoy spending time withah. Throughout, Colin is trying to create a unified theory of dating, he's a former child prodigy trying to work out why he keeps getting dumped and a young man who really wannats to grow up and 'matter' to the world. But who is this intriguing Lindsay? Hmmm? An attractive and deep personality yet she's a young woman who won't move away from the very small town she's grown up in, why's that then? She's kinda cute and Colin's pal Hassan is generous and funny. You'll want to spend time with these people. Listen to it,it's well narrated too.

Entertaining story
An unusual and interesting story. It was not as strong as A Fault in Our Stars, but was still enjoyable. I love the name Katherine, but personally I enjoy all the different spellings, variants, and nicknames. It made me think of Michael in Judy Blume's Forever, asking what he was supposed to do with a necklace that said "Katherine", after being dumped. I guess the answer must be to find another Katherine, and not a Catherine, Katharine, Kathryn, etc.
