Overview muito bom, poderia aprofundar mais.

O autor proporciona uma visão geral e muito clara do cenário de escravidão no Brasil antigo demostrando como o Negro sofria naquela época (uma infelicidade na história do Brasil). A cronologia dos fatos é muito interessante, talvez poderia explorar ou aprofundar mais em algumas épocas e acontecimentos. E.g. abordar, explorar revoltas, movimentos pró abolição e os anos seguintes depois da abolição. No geral, vale a pena a leitura.
