Triple the murder, triple the fun

Wow. What a great way to spend your time, by enjoy three great murder mysteries. The reason I enjoyed this is because of the great characters, I really like Viola as a character and the situations she finds herself in. I would say move over Jessica Fletcher or even Castle but Viola is a historical romance writer that finds herself investigating murders so slightly different. The main plot idea might have already been done but that doesn't mean that it doesn't work or isn't enjoyable and I for one can't wait to for the next book.
The Body in the Bathtub (book one, fourth in the series)
I liked this book because there was lots of suspects and I never did guess who the killer was.
When a Bunco player drops out of there monthly game and a replaced found, Viola never imagined that once again she would be investigating a murder and her friends would be at the top of the suspect list. The lady wasn't well like and even her husband doesn't seem too distressed at her death. Viola will need to work out how she was killed before she can name the suspect but as another Bunco player is killed she will have to make sure she doesn't become the next victim.

The Venom in the Valentine (book two, fifth in the series)
I liked how this started as nasty letters before progressing to the murder because it kept you guessing on numerous acounts, were they connected, who was the intended target.
When Viola's boyfriend gets stuck in New York for Valentine's, she takes her best friend Cheryl on the romantic gets away instead. Before she even gets time to unpack she receives a letter telling her that lesbians aren't wanted there. She is surprised to find out she isn't the only one to get a nasty anonymous letter. The hotel manger is reluctant to call in the police but has no choice when one of the recipients turns up dead. Are the letters and the murder connected? There is only one way to find out and that is by Viola investigating.

The Remains in the Rectory (box three, sixth in the series
This is my favourite book. I loved how all the suspects were trapped in one place and to be set in England was just a hoot. I wish we all had secret rooms but then again if it means finding a dead body perhaps not. Still a lot of fun with a good mystery. The story does sort of revolve around ghost hunting but if that is not your thing don't let it out you off because it is most defiantly a murder mystery and not super natural.
Viola and Lucas are in England and getting lost in a thunderstorm leaves them stranded in a quaint haunted mansion. With a ghost Hunter visiting it is not long before she is visiting the local ghost hot spots including the village church. But she had no idea that while trapped there because of the storm, somebody would add to the ghost population. One of the guest is killed and with the police unable to get there because of the storm damage Viola and another guest will have to play detective. When an old Skelton is found in the church it is not long before they focus in on a suspect that had a motive to kill. But was that to easy? Then the way the victim was killed is called into question and another body turn up sending them back to the drawing board. Can Viola find the killer before the police turn up?
I liked the narrator. She does a really good job with the voices in all three books and you are even treated to a few accents in book three. I hope she continues to voice Viola because I can't imagine another author doing a better job.
