That’s how I felt about Milos. He was from Europe, a doctor, wealthy, athletic. He had an accent and a dog. Milos was textbook marriage material. For him it was “love at first sight”, but for me, it was “anxiety on every date”. Something was telling me to run - but for two years, the only running I did was straight into his arms.

If only I would have listened. This isn’t a love story. It’s my story of survival.

When I was a teen Brittany was one of my favourite YouTubers and when things became quiet on the platform for her I had always wondered what had happened. To hear what really happened broke my heart, watching her videos and thinking about what was really going on behind them was truly heartbreaking. Her narration is very much like her videos and I'm glad that she breaks up the story with titbits of her personality as it softens areas of heaviness between chapters. I also feel like not only is this a story about a sucky love story but a real love story about the love and friendship of motherhood.

As someone who was in the same sort of mentally abusive relationship I found this book so easily relatable. At first its slow but when everything ties together its astonishing, I loved it and Seriously hope that Brittani, her son and her mother stay happy, healthy and most importantly safe. Strength doesn't just come in how much weight you can lift but how you can pick yourself up and fight back. Your story is both inspiring and emotional and to all fellow audible/amazon people it's worth every second.

I thought the story was interesting and I was certainly hooked. I don’t appreciate the author using words like ‘hussy’ and ‘slut’ as I think they’re judgemental and unnecessary.
