Lily Kingsley accepts that she is destined to be a spinster - but not until she gets her first kiss. And she knows the perfect gentleman to enlist. Unfortunately, she kisses the wrong one and ends up in the arms of an overbearing and exceptionally frustrating merchant.

Nothing happens!
This novel is truly terrible - nothing happens and is boring as hell...I couldn’t finish it. Never will I read anything by this author again - be warned!!

Loved it
I've loved all the books I've read by M A Nichols - all so different! I think Madeleleine Brolly is a superb narrator. I have to listen to a sample of Audible books and the narrator makes my decision of whether to buy or not.

Sweet romance
Enjoyable with M A Nichol's trademark damaged hero and heroine who find love despite their unhappy pasts. A gentle listen and well written.

Great “Read”!
This is a great read! It addresses myriad of topics that women of all ages deal with: body image, insecurities, fear of rejection, - along with the challenges of falling in love with someone who has a hard time communicating because of their own challenges. It isn’t heavy on the humor side but this book doesn’t need all the witty banter because it’s characters keep you engaged regardless. It also is a truly clean read. There are a few sweet kisses but the gift of self restraint moves the story along.
I highly recommend this read for all women but it is a very worthy read for younger readers struggling with accepting that they will find love despite not looking like a magazine model.

Beautiful story!
The story is sweet, sassy and heartfelt. I enjoyed the characters and the drama. The Performance by Madeleine Brolly was excellent. Big fat 5 stars!

Very entertaining and enjoyable
The characters were very good. I didn't expect the villain turnout to turn out to turn out the way it did. The characters' revealed backgrounds help to make the book interesting. The author made the book very interesting without having to add sex scenes.

Too much drama
Way too much crying, misunderstanding and unnecessary drama. I had to restart the telling of this story 3 times before I could finish, the performance was good.

What did i just listen to.
This was a horrible story about an unlikable woman, the tears were too much, and man. I don't believe characters like this exist, i will definitely give this author a break after this wasted credit.

This is my favorite out of this collection.
The range emotions are so vivid and beautiful. This book reminds me that there is someone out there for everyone, and all things even the ugly have to work out for your good
