Summary
Inside the minds of the world's most depraved serial killers.
Sunday Times best-selling author Christopher Berry-Dee is the man who talks to serial killers. A world-renowned investigative criminologist, he has gained the trust of murderers across the world, entered their high security prisons and discussed in detail their shocking crimes.
The killers' pursuit of horror and violence is described through the unique audiotape and videotape interviews which Berry-Dee conducted, deep inside the bowels of some of the world's toughest prisons.
Christopher Berry-Dee has collated these interviews into this astounding, disturbing book. Not only does he describe his meetings with some of the world's most evil men and women, he also reproduces, verbatim, their very words as they describe their crimes, allowing the listener a glimpse into the inner workings of the people who have committed the worst crime possible - to mercilessly take the life of another human being.

The author seems a bit of a twit
Somehow shoehorns Black Lives Matter whilst talking about Sir Robert Peel into a book about serial killers. Also likes swearing, kind of like he's only just discovered naughty words. Quite interesting though.

the lost Alan Partridge serial killer book
what a very strange read this was, the information inside was really good, however the execution by the author was very Alan Partridge with a running commentary on his thoughts and feelings about BLM, Trump, hell and seemingly understanding that many of the people in his book had deeply rooted psychiatric issues but nevertheless hang them up anyway....
it all felt very Alan Partridge and his "needless to say...I had the last laugh"
one of the strangest books I've read in a long time
the narrator was really good though with the material he had

weird
some interesting information about serial killers, weirdly interspersed with the authors views on how much he detests Donald Trump and how much he loves Black Lives Matter and George Floyd. ok mate, we get it, you're a lefty but why are you telling us in a book about serial killers. Very weird

poor style
it is beyond me why an author would select a genre such as this, and then not treat it with the solemnity and respect it deserves as a matter of common sense. The author tries to make everything a bit of a joke. YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SERIAL KILLERS MATE! PEOPLE WITH VICTIMS. MANY OF WHOM HAVE FAMILY STILL BREATHING.

Loved it
Absolutely loved this. The one thing I disliked was the seemingly random inclusion of George Floyd. Apart from that the narrator made it exciting and the author added their own bit of dark humour.

Another fascinating read
I read the books by this author as soon as I have them, I find them totally engrossing. I read a lot of this kind of book, but I find the books by Christopher Berry-Dee to be the best researched, therefore giving content I haven't read before. Brilliantly narrated.

Trump bashing was an irritation
I'm not interested in Mr Berry-Dee's political views.
His derogatory opinions about the capabilities of an ex-US president were simply an irritation serving only the author's vanity and desire to signal his political 'correctness'.
The first time it happened, I chose to ignore it; the second time irked me and the third time I decided this is the last of the author's books I will read.
I'm not even a Trump supporter. I read serial killer books to avoid politics. I don't want this stuff rammed down my throat.

Very easy listening
Great audiobook, easy to pick up where you left off each time .
Very informative however the author was opinionated to say the least . His continual references to Donald Trump in the last chapter when discussing a cult leader who massacred his followers was bizarre indeed .
Otherwise recommended.
