About this listen

Ghislaine de Lorgny wants just one thing in this life: revenge on the man who destroyed her life. Nicholas Blackthorne wants two things: to keep Ghislaine from killing him and to get her into his bed. Kidnapping her and taking her, kicking and screaming, across half of Europe is only the beginning of their adventures. He has a black heart and a remorseless soul; she has fierce determination and a score to settle.

I really like this story. The narrator tried her best but the French accents were somewhat reminiscent of Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. And Lady Ellen's proclamations of Toe-Kneeee added to the comic effect. I was however, entertained!

Toe-Kneeee!!!

Always love an Anne Stuart book with wicked cads and feisty females but have to agree with other reviewers that the narration is awful. Terrible accents, both French, British aristocratic and ‘cockney’ or whatever it was supposed to be. Managed to get to the end of the book as the action itself was pretty exciting but would rather have read the book than listen to it.

Great story, interesting background of revolutionary France but terrible narration

I could not listen to this book as the narrator was ABSOLUTELY terrible. The French accent was ridiculous and the
voice she allocated to Ellen was just unbelievable. I have given up in disgust.
