A solidly entertaining story well narrated. The heroine's transformation from a dutiful, colourless daughter and the cynical hero's softening are well told.

The parents are unpleasant people. They spend all the time manipulating bulling and shouting. The Heroine is a wimp, "who surprisingly" can only stand up to the Hero. The Hero is not much better, despite his highhand beliefs. Is easily manipulated by the Heroine and her mother. The rest is alot of set peices, that have predictable endings. The most stupid set peice is an experience sailor, doesn't watch the weather.

Overacting is the main theme.
