Summary
Ye screw with this lass, ye get put on yer ass.
Life sucker-punched me.... I have family I didn't know about, a magical heritage laying its claim, and a mystery I apparently need to solve.
There are three things I love most in life: my wild and crazy Irish family, Redbreast Whiskey at Shenanigans, and living in Toronto. Having grown up with five older brothers, I can fight my way out of most situations, either with my wicked sense of humor or my fists. Often both. But when a back-alley brawl leaves me marked with a bizarre Celtic crest on my back, I become a beacon for all things whacked and weird. My dad is obviously freaked when he sees the tat, but he won't discuss it. So, I do what any stubborn redheaded lass would - I ignore all advice and fly to the Emerald Isle to get answers.
And yeah...you know that saying about hindsight being 20/20? True story.
Look out, druid world. This mac Cumhaill is like no other.
Will Fiona survive coming into her powers? Will those in Ireland survive Fiona? Can Toronto survive an urban druid and her mythical bear?

Magic in the modern world
Who knew the Druids are still practising in this day and age. Fiona will be doing her best to join their ranks. The characters are awesome, the family vibes are just fantastic and you just can’t help but be mesmerised by the story

Missing action scenes
This book immediately drew my attention due to the Irish heritage and more unconventional druid powers. I was so excited to listen to it and could not stop listening at first. It had such potential to be a great book, but there is one thing I just cannot get past. Roughly half the time, right before what was leading up to be a great action scene, the characters would lay out their plan, or even get ready to engage, and then the book would skip forward over the whole thing and they would be sitting in the kitchen. The only view you got of what just went down was their recap of it to each other. It just felt like so much lost potential on what could have been edge-of-your-seat moments. It kind of made the whole book somewhat lackluster to me.

Amazing!
This was a great book! Love the amazing banter between characters and the reference to so many other great books. Like when she said something to the effect of being better than Hermione Granger. Loved it!!!

is it irish or is it Scottish?
really not sure if the writer wanted to depict an Irish culture or a Scottish one?? the story had prise but there were too many scenes that were completely skipped over. would have been interesting but when you cut out big chunks of events and just refer to them occurring the reader doesn't become immersed. too bad. unless reviews show improvements I will not be getting any other books by this author.

Excellent Adventure
This is a fun adventure that pulls you along with it. I would use this book as an example of how a D&D game should go. She stumbles onto an adventure, the items and info she needs to complete the adventure are discovered along the way. Complete with a couple side quests just to gain experience, that do not detract from the main story. The only aspect that I don't care for is the propensity to lead up to a mystery or come up with a plan, and then just like on Scooby Doo, that info is with held from the readers until the proper settings are attained. Over all though, an excellent series.

Dnf: more sex than story
Dnf: more sex than story. Could not grasp the gist of storyline between the sex chatter/scenes.

OMG! Could Not put this Audible Book Down!!
I am just Loving this Audible book and have already purchased the rest of thos Series. I real like the Cool (MacCol) Family and their love and honor installed in them. Fiona is a Strong woman who raised with so many brothers who are all rough and tumble when young, turned into a Very Selfreliant Person. The Brothers are all Police officers as well as their Father, so all are Strong people. Narrator did a Excellent job with the characters voices and the Entire Storyline!! I highly recommend this book.

Entertaining!
Ok first off this story doesn't take itself too seriously. It's a feel good romp through an Irish immigrant family with their foibles and love for each other and the idea to just accept everyone and everything for who and what they are with no judgement would make everyone and everything happy.
Reader did a great job with odd Gaelic words and some strange Canadian turns of phrase.
All in all an enjoyable read or "listen" and nothing too heavy to bring you down.
This is a paranormal action story NOT a paranormal romance so don't get this and expect love to be in the air because it's not! Just an all around romping good beat down to the bad guys 😀

Great listen
Really enjoyed this book and this unique take on druids that the authors created. The narration of the book was easy and superb. I will definitely listen to the entire series. I love this fierce little red head and that she can take or leave romance. She’s more focused on bettering herself than needing a man which I can truly appreciate.
