Story
Eighteen years ago, FBI Agent Rachel Ward's mirror twin, Hannah, was taken by the Gemini killer, a serial killer who delights in sending photos of his victims to their twins. Rachel assumes her sister has been dead for years, but she's never stopped hunting the monster who took her. Summary
Sara Linton, medical examiner in the small town of Heartsdale, is called out to an apparent suicide on the local college campus. The mutilated body provides little in the way of clues - and the college authorities are keen to avoid a scandal - but for Sara and police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, things don't add up. Two more suspicious suicides follow, and a young woman is brutally attacked. For Sara, the violence strikes far too close to home. And as Jeffrey pursues the sadistic killer, he discovers that ex-police detective Lena Adams, now a security guard on campus, may be in possession of crucial information. But, bruised and angered by her expulsion from the force, Lena seems to be barely capable of protecting herself, let alone saving the next victim...

Another riveting book in the Grant County Series
Karen Slaughter delivers another gripping tale from Grant County. I’m really enjoying the development of the main characters as they tackle each complex investigation.
Deborah Hazlett does a much better job of the narration.

As always slaughter does it again weaving the story to keep you rapt until the very end then leaving just enough to encourage your next read. The characters come alive and become actors in your mind as the story unfolds on a stage of your making. One of the best I kept my kindle constantly with me until the end. If you like her writing then it s not to be missed
