Summary
1941 год. До начала войны остаются считанные дни. Неподалеку от села Красное совершает вынужденную посадку военный самолет У-2. Возможности отбуксировать самолет нет, поэтому принято решение выставить возле него часового. На роль доблестного охранника военного имущества выбирают рядового Ивана Чонкина, проходящего службу в воинской части неподалеку от места происшествия. Оказавшись на новом месте Чонкин знакомится с почтальоном Нюрой и довольно быстро пост охраны переносится в ее избу. Начинается война и о самолете с Чонкиным на время забывают… Издается в последней авторской редакции.
