Ahmed Faraz is considered one of the greatest modern Urdu poets of the last century. Essentially a romantic poet, steeped in classical Persian and Urdu traditions, he combined the sensitivity and lyricism of the great Urdu poet Meer Taqi Meer and the philosophical range and depth of Mirza Ghalib, his poetry also reflected a progressive outlook. He is often compared to Faiz Ahmed Faiz for his simple style of writing because of which he became popular among common readers and connoisseurs of urdu poetry.

अहमद फ़राज़ आज के सबसे लोकप्रिय शायर हैं। उन्हें जीते-जी ऐसी शोहरत मिली है कि आज हिंदुस्तान और पाकिस्तान में फ़राज़ साहब की ग़ज़लों और नज़्मों को बड़े शौक से पढ़ा और सुना जाता है। 'ये मेरी ग़ज़लें, 'ये मेरी नज़्में' की विशेषता यह है कि इसमें खुद फ़राज़ साहब ने अपनी मनपसंद बेहतरीन ग़ज़लों और नज़्मों का चयन किया है। अहमद फ़राज़ की शोहरत ने जब अपने गिर्द एक ऐसा प्रभामंडल पैदा कर लिया जिसमें उनके एक इंक़लांबी रूमानी शायर की छवि चस्पां है। अपने मुल्क में उन्होंने जेलें भी काटी हैं।

The idea of doing this book took shape in Tammana Sharma's mind way before she even started writing poems. She firmly believes that poems are a reflection of the heart, and as a person who feels deeply, her heart has been writing poems for a long time now. But she started to let her poems manifest onto paper only when she turned twelve. One can call this a collection of Tamanna's poems from her school days.
