Hello all you beautiful readers, I'm Raven Usher. I live in Meridian, Idaho. I have 3 kids and 4 grandkids. I started writing creatively in high school after my English teacher gave me an A+++ on an essay that I totally made up. We were reading the "Book of the Dun Cow" for class. I thought it was a waist of ink and didn't read past the 1st chapter. The day of the test, I knew I was going to fail miserably since the only thing I knew about the book was what we went over in class discussions. The very last question on the test was, "discuss the book as an allegory". I thought to myself, "If I'm going down I might as well go down in flames." So I wrote 3 pages of total from-the-hip hogwash about the book being an allegory for school. Not only did she love it, and gave me enough credit for it to save the rest of the test that I did fail, I found out later from friends that she used it as an example in her other classes. That's when I knew that I could spin a yarn. I started my writing career by submitting short articles and stories to various publications like; The Hidden Path, The Seattle Gay News, OutImpact.com, and other sources. I started writing for Boise's premier LGBT publication, Diversity News Magazine, as a columnist, reporter and cartoonist. I eventually took over as managing editor and spent 5 years in that position. My writing took a 2-year hiatus when my health took a serious down turn. But now I'm back spinning my yarns once again. I hope you like all my twisted little stories. They're what happens when a mind like mine is given free reign. xxxooo raVen
