Jeff Brummett was born in 1970 in Texas. Jeff grew up in Northeast Texas and later traveled and worked for 18 years in Australia, Alaska, Hawaii and England. As a second career Jeff began teaching as an elementary Special Education Teacher in Texas. The idea for Garvin the Goat was generated as part of helping students prepare for writing.
