I am a Texas senior citizen living in the Dallas, Tx, area. After high school, I joined the Air Force, where I was a keypunch operator, where I used a machine to punch data holes in cards to run through computers. Following my 4 year enlistment in the Air Force, I attended the University of Texas in Austin and received a BBA degree in marketing. I joined a company in Richmond, VA, that sold garbage trucks, where I became their representative for the state of Texas. I was with them for about two years when I decided to change my career path. I tell people I left that business because I was always down in the dumps. During that two years, I learned about the court reporting business, and because I was a good keypunch operator, court reporting seemed to be right up my alley. I went to a court reporting school in Houston, TX, where I graduated in two years. I began my court reporting career in New Orleans, LA, for one year and then moved to the Dallas area, where I've lived ever since. I had a partner, and we purchased the court reporting firm we both worked for in 1984.
We sold it to a large national firm in 1998. I stayed with them until 2001, when I lost most of my right ear hearing, forcing me to retire. I learned how to invest and trade in the stock market and have been doing that ever since.
In terms of my spiritual career, I did not have one until age 34. Growing up, I hardly ever attended church and did not know anything about the Bible. I knew Jesus died for our sins, and I believed that. After all, John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." I believed that with my head, not knowing that it was talking about a personal relationship with God with our "heart" and not our head. At age 34, I read Hal Lindsey's book, The Late Great Planet Earth, where I learned about how the Bible is full of prophecies, which is the future written in advance. That was proof to me that the Bible is the real truth, and I repented and asked the Lord into my life, and it's been a growing relationship ever since. Evangelism is my "passion." I started studying the scriptures, where prophecy became my passion, especially end-time prophecy. For several decades I have served the Lord in several ways. I spent 7 years going through the BSF - Bible Study Fellowship - program. It is a worldwide extensive Bible study program through the whole Bible. I recommend it to everyone. I was a Gideon for several years, a men's organization that hands out Bibles mainly in hotels, motels, and schools. Gideon's used to be able to hand Bibles out in schools, but now they have to do it on the sidewalks outside of schools. I have served in a few prison ministries through the Gideon's and Bill Glass ministries. I spent a few years in the 1-800-Need Him ministry, where people could call that phone number, and we would present the gospel message to them.
The Bible is the Word of God and has always fascinated me and caused me to be a "deep thinker" concerning God's plan in terms of what He's done in the past and will do in the future and also WHY He has done it the way He has. The Bible reveals all of that when you diligently search for those answers. Several years ago, I started writing spiritual articles for Raptureready.com. This wonderful ministry focuses mainly on the rapture and the end times where we believe that the Lord's return is in our lifetime and could be so close that the rapture could occur any day now. Raptureready.com has thousands of people writing spiritual articles on anything spiritual and is a wonderful source to be spiritually energized through their articles. I hope you will check them out. I never pictured myself writing a book in a million years, but I believe the Lord was grooming me to write this book when I started writing the Raptureready.com articles. I wish everyone on the planet could read this book because it truly reveals God's plan from beginning to end in an easy-to-understand way. Nothing is more important than eternity and God; those who read this book will understand why.
My wonderful wife, Pam, and I have been married for 29 years. We were not blessed with children but have been blessed with several pugs over the years. We are hooked on those precious dogs who are our "family." I look forward to asking the Lord someday why He only gives our precious dogs and cats around 15 years of life and gives some birds and turtles 75 to 100 years of life. Somehow walking my turtle around the block for many decades doesn't do it for me. Recreation-wise, I enjoyed golf starting at age 14 until I had to quit golf in 2002 when my health prevented me from enjoying it anymore. A friend introduced me to bowling, which I was able to do, and I have enjoyed being in bowling leagues for the last 15 years.
