Excellent short story
I'd read and enjoyed this story some time ago, so was interested to hear the audiobook version.
And I was not in the least disappointed. It's a powerful and evocative story, a plausible imagining of what history would simply describe as "a Viking raid" on a village. Lots of little details brought it to life for me.
Emma Parry did an excellent job narrating it, conveying the sense of repression the central character had all her life, almost a "surfacing from a depression", feel, as well as her developing interest in the big bad (and rather hunky) viking warrior.

A Viking God.
Elsywth has her village ransacked by Vikings. One viking more then the other's catches her eye. Which leads her to a journey of Sexual discovery. This was a good story the only thing I didn't like was the mention of Rape. Through out the story at some points. Which is why I'm going to be honest and give this three stars. But I do really want to see what happens to Elsywth and her viking as the story finishes in a cliffhanger. I would like to read the follow up to this book when it's out.

Almost Animalistic
Very well written and detailed. I thought it was very representative of the Vikings and how they would conquer and plunder villages. However, this is a snippet of the aftermath and celebration. This author turned up the heat in this short listen as Erik claims Elyswyth as his own and she surrenders to him. Quick listen that is super hot, but it ends abruptly and leaves us wanting more.
The narration was great. I enjoyed listening to the narrators voice and I feel like her accent added a feeling of authenticity to the time and setting of this short story.

Viking Thunder
2.5 for me.
So the best thing about this story for me was the narration. I know this is a prequel but I felt no connection to the characters or between the characters. It was all rushed.
I did like the narrator's voice and tone.

Wonderfully Dark!
Viking Thunder is a brilliantly written dark and sensual story, that'll leave you with wanting more. There are elements in the story that are quite violent and intense but expected from the period. Emma Parry did an exceptional job with the narration, particularly the harsher scenes. I'm wholly impressed by her performance.

Who is my true people?
This audiobook was exciting, full of Norse folklore, and had a smattering of romance. Elswyth was different from other girls in many ways, in her appearance, her tomboyish ways, and she was disliked because of this difference. Arik, the head Norseman, arrives full of strength, lust, and truth defeating the villager's men and awakening emotions Elswyth never felt before. I can't wait to listen to Viking Wolf to continue Elswyth's and Arik's adventure.

Liked the narrator
This was a very short viking novella that was well-written and detailed as the author did a great job making you feel like you were back in the days of the Vikings. The story, told from the female's POV after the viking raid their village was very steamy however I did not really care for the story.
The audiobook was narrated by Emma Parry. She did a great job with the characters and brought the story to life. She was a good choice for this role.

Viking Raid
The Vikings raided the village but did not leave right away. They captured the women and raped some but took one in particular with them. The chemistry was not there for me.
