Wow

Both Jared and Leigh have been burned by long term relationships where they weren't really valued and wanted. Even though they were both afraid to trust, they found comfort and healing in each other. It was easy for them both to be with the other, which shocked them both. Leigh decides to risk everything to ask him to discipline her to keep to her diet so that she can manage her blood sugar levels. This is not the first Golden Angel novel I read. It won't be the last either. Normally books like this make me feel extremely uncomfortable. Her books don't. I'll be honest and state that I haven't really read a lot of books in this genre and the few I did weren't really that great. So, it's possible that I might like them. Who knows? All I know is that I don't feel uncomfortable reading books from Golden Angel. This book was really nice. The only problem I had was that there were a few scenes here and there that I felt got rushed over a bit too much. Leigh is a very wholesome girl. She knows her flaw and she does what it takes to fix it. I like that about her. I can also really relate to the high blood sugar problem. In more ways than I care to admit. I really liked Jared a lot. He's very up front and honest. He's not some broody and mysterious person who gets mad when people question him. It was a refreshing change. I can't really give an honest assessment about the background characters, but they all seemed fun and friendly and full of life! I'll have to go back and read some of the books in this series to know some of them better. I have never heard any books by Rose Lane before. She's pretty talented. I really enjoyed listening to this book. She definitely helped elevate it in a lot of ways. I was impressed. I hope that she's the narrator for the rest of this series. She definitely nailed it. I enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would. I had a feeling I would, though. Golden Angel has a talent about her. She knows how to make things exciting to read. I can see why people begged her to put her work into publish. I'm glad they did too. The world would be without her literature if they didn't.

Love this series

I am enjoying this series. Such great friends dynamics. This book dealt with ex drama and friends standing up for each other. I consider this is a friends to lovers romance. Leigh needs help getting her life in order and asks her Dom friend Jared to keep her straight. We get a HEA with no cliffhanger. This book introduces another couple for the next book in the series. Narration is great I recommend this book.

Amazing HEA

I love this series. The author is amazing linking all the books together. Jared has baggage from his past in the name of Marissa. He was once in love with this lady who walked all over him. Leah walks into his life broken from her last experience. Jared is set to turn her around and help her along her wait both in the love/bdsm and also in her health. The narrator did an amazing Job as well.

I love this book! Great characters that you will love if you like big Alpha Doms( which I do!!) fantastic chemistry between all the characters. Written so well. Rose is a new narrator to me and she done a great job.

Sexy smart BDSM romance

I loved reading all of the books in Golden Angel’s Stronghold Doms series and was curious about the audio.
I’m so glad I took the time to experience Jared and Leigh’s story again. They had such wonderful chemistry and their relationship grew in a very believable way. Rose Lane did a really nice job of bringing all the characters alive.As always it was wonderful having secondary characters being a big part of the story. This was really a pleasure to listen to and I will be checking out the other audiobooks in this series.

Losing the Chains

I enjoyed this book so much. I cannot believe I am just learning of these series. I am glad this was a stand alone and that I can go back and enjoy the other books in this series. I enjoyed Leigh and Jared. I enjoyed the HEA. Things worth having is worth fighting for. I enjoyed their dynamics so much. The chemistry can be felt through the narrator.

New to me author

I read/listened to braking the chain before I read/listened to the other books in the series. I am no going to go back and read the other books. This is about two people with a lot of baggage and can the be together. This book focuses on Leigh and Jared. I like that their pasts make them who they are and I love the couple. This is my first, bu won’t be my last read/listen from Golden Angel.

Love the Stronghold Doms

This was an interesting couple. Both Jared and Leigh had baggage that they had to deal with so they found comfort with each other. Leigh is a total vanilla and wants to try the lifestyle. I liked Leigh experimenting. It gave great insight into how someone starts in the world of kink. Jared is more than happy to teach Leigh the ways. Jared is more like a disciplinarian for Leigh to keep her reaching for her goals. But as Leigh discovers she likes the softer kink, she is willing to try more. Jared is the perfect Dom for this. He has a softer side and patience of a saint. I really fell hard for these two and would love to read more about them.

Rose Lane has a great narration voice. She is easy to listen to and brings the story to life. I really enjoyed the innocence she gave Leigh. I look forward to hearing more from Rose Lane.

Love this whole series!

I have listened to many of Golden Angel’s books and I have loved them all. This book was the story of Jared and Leigh who were both coming out of long-term relationships with their exes. These two characters had wonderful chemistry together, and the story was hot. I recognize a lot of the characters from the Venus Rising Series which then turned into the Stronghold Series. Once this whole series is available on audio, I will be sure to relisten to it again in order because it is just that good. Rose Lane did an amazing job bringing this story to life.
