Summary

It's been 53 turns after the legendary Commander Zero graduated as a Congie warrior. Joe, now a battle-hardened veteran, has spent his life surviving wars he had no right to survive. Yet his real test is coming: New forces are conspiring to start a great war like the universe has never seen, one that would rip apart the very fabric of Congress. Joe is conscripted to fight the very war everyone has been fearing since the rise of the Dhasha: the war against the legendary Dhasha Vahlin. Unfortunately for Joe, at the same time, other ruthless powers are conspiring to kill him before he fulfills the prophecy of the Trith.

To fight the Vahlin, a desperate Congress comes up with a tactic it abandoned millennia ago—the use of multi-species groundteams. Joe, now a Prime Commander, is given command of his own team of misfits and pitted against the Vahlin's forces in a war whose casualties are millions-to-one. Can Joe keep his group of aliens from killing each other long enough to make them into a battle-ready team? Will he survive long enough to kill the Vahlin? Or is he destined to destroy Congress, as the Trith have prophesized about him?

Loved it

What can i say other then great. Funny at times Thrilling at others and sad parts to make you feel their sorrow. A++++

The way Zero evolved from poor bamboozled recruit in the last to full bad ass in this one was amazing.

Im not usually for time skips but this was done very well. Zero felt like a grizzled vet with a ton of experiance and a dash of ptsd. Alot of books dont get that right, sometimes its hard to imagine the lead doing the stuff they do but in this, zero felt like he could.

Naration and audio work were as always amazing too, but you can garuntee that with it being a sbt production.

Cant wait for the next book to drop

Outstanding!

The combination of character development in there relationships with each other through humour and heart really makes the reader invest in each one..

Characters aside the story is full of twists and turns.. not sure if it’s a sifi war story, a Heist or a comedy? with the intrigue a spy novel ?

With all that it shouldn’t work but it really dose great book first book is the setup for this book and I’m glad it blew me away

Narrator and production brought it to life without destroying the writing can’t wait for the 3rd

Well done !

AMAZING!!

Might have started a bit slow bit it definitely picked the pace up later with all the action, schemes within schemes and all the other intrigues fitting together to make a beautiful story with a massive shocker at the end.

ZERO FOR THE WIN!

I Love Zero. I read the Zero series years ago and was excited to see it on Audible. Spend the credit, you won’t be disappointed. This book has such an unforgettable cast of characters. The best aliens. The narrator, Jeff Hays is fabulous and this soundbooth production is first rate. I don’t have the technospeak, but one of the things I noticed is overlapping voices. Joe is Laughing over Daavins gravelly voice. Speaker sound effects with Forgotten. Tons of small technical recording tricks that I’ve really not encountered in my 800+ previous listens. I’m a huge Zero fan and the story is 5 stars as always, but Jeff, and soundbooth quality are simply *chef’s kiss*

One of the Best....

One of the Best stories I have read, and have the privilege to read and listen to. You can't go wrong with this series. When Jeff Hays and anyone from Soundbooth Theater teams up with Sara King, the experience is SO MUCH MORE!!!

Best series

I love the Legend of Zero books. It’s so well done on Audible. Great in depth characters with solid stories to capture your emotions. I am a big fan of space opera and this stands right up to Skippy and his merry band of pirates. The complex story is slowly revealed and each twist and turn racks the brain. I strongly suggest the listen.

About time a worthy audio book of this story

I've been a fan of this author for several years and eagerly await new material. When I heard an audio edition was in the works I got excited. I have purchased both this one and the previous in the series and all I can say is WOW, what a great performance! I have great memories of readng this the first time through a few years back and this added a lot of extra enjoyment to the story. My favorite voice has got to be either the Dasha or Forgotten. When I thought the brilliant writing couldn't be improved, this superb performance managed to do it.
I'll be extremely disappointed if Jeff Hays and Soundbooth Theater don't do the rest of Sara Kings books. Finish Zero first, then maybe some Sunny with a chance of monsters, which was a fun book.

Clever, thrilling writing with a performance second to none!

Clever, thrilling writing with a narration performance second to none!

Sara King’s second book in the Zero universe is a treasure in its own right. With the addition of Jeff Hays’ narration, however, this book has become a masterpiece! One I could listen to over and over! Well worth the price of admission!

Absolutely Fantastic Indie Sci Fi!

Totally enthralling storyline with great character development. Sara is one of the few authors who can make me laugh out loud or yell at characters. Jeff Hays has an amazing ability to emote and differentiate between characters. His skills brought a whole new level of depth and life to an already amazing story.

great story 💥💥💥💥💥

highly recommend great story filled with action and adventure was a little confused there towards the middle and end on what was going on little too much to understand it all that all together a great story you must read the first book first to know what's going on though
