About this listen
An Instant New York Times Bestseller!
If I Stay meets Your Name in Dustin Thao's You've Reached Sam, a heartfelt audiobook about love and loss and what it means to say goodbye.
Seventeen-year-old Julie Clarke has her future all planned out—move out of her small town with her boyfriend Sam, attend college in the city; spend a summer in Japan. But then Sam dies. And everything changes.
Heartbroken, Julie skips his funeral, throws out his belongings, and tries everything to forget him. But a message Sam left behind in her yearbook forces memories to return. Desperate to hear him one more time, Julie calls Sam's cell phone just to listen to his voice mail recording. And Sam picks up the phone.
The connection is temporary. But hearing Sam's voice makes Julie fall for him all over again and with each call, it becomes harder to let him go.
What would you do if you had a second chance at goodbye?

Disappointing and difficult to finish.
The premise of this book was interesting and in the beginning it seemed like it was going somewhere. However, I found that the storyline wasn't going anywhere (perhaps purposefully, to make us feel that the main character was stuck in her grief). It became quite boring.
I also found the characters to be one dimensional and even annoying at times (especially the main character). This book gave me a constant feeling that it could culminate into something meaningful but it never did. Also, there were some plot points that were either rushed or dropped altogether.
Overall, I was disappointed because I feel like it had a lot of potential. I would definitely check out future works from the author though!

Struggled to finish it
Really disappointed with this book. Nice concept but followed a very boring and predictable storyline. The characters were one dimensional and it was difficult to feel anything for them. I was waiting for something interesting to happen but it never did.
