Story
I’ve always let my past dictate my future, letting it paint a picture of exactly what I don’t want to be. Where I don’t want to end up. Drake Chambers is as arrogant as I am stubborn. A college quarterback, a national star. I thought he was just another one of those guys…the type every girl should stay away from, but he’s carrying more than the weight of the football team on his shoulders. He unravels the feelings and beliefs I’ve held on to for so long. I thought we had it all figured out.

To the Green-Eyed Lovebird: We met 15 years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House. You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more. We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other. Yet, somehow, it all fell apart.

Story
I remember the very first time I laid eyes on Cole Lincoln. It still feels like yesterday when he stumbled into my life with his messy brown hair and dark eyes. Even though I was only 10 years old at the time, I knew right then and there that he was going to change everything. From that point on, Cole and I were always together, inseparable, and I naively believed we'd be best friends forever. But forever didn't last nearly as long as I expected. We grew up and grew apart, life driving the distance between us.

Story
I'm the girl who doesn't let anyone in. My world was shattered and turned upside down in one night. Since then I've been trying to live, if that's what you call it, but fighting the anxiety of what happened and trusting others is hard. Each day is a struggle to reach for the unknown. I watched my father give my mother the world and the stars. She took everything from him, then left him as a broken man with nothing to live for. I told myself I'd never fall in love. I'm guarding my heart and emotions, only looking out for number one.

Story
On the northeast side of town, there is a house. The house was once magical, filled with love and joy and plans for the future. Inside its walls are many things that belong to me - my books, the china from my mother on my wedding day, the beautiful cage once home to two birds, now empty, just like me. And a man. A man who also belongs to me. A man I no longer wish to keep. A man who, no doubt, has not slept, though the sun is rising. Because the house where he waits is where I laid my head to rest every night for eight years. Until last night.

It’s been said that you can’t love two men at the same time. You can’t split your heart, soul, and body in half. But I’m here to tell you, you can. Dylan Cole is like ice, sharp and unpredictable, the thunder inside a tumultuous storm. Smith Reid is warmth, soft and gentle, perfect like a sunny day. Both are mine. But I can have only one. There are two sides to this tale. I'm here to tell you mine. If you think this story is about a cheater, you couldn’t be more wrong.

Story
At fifteen I fell in love. His name was Jake Stephens and he took the abandoned, lonely girl I had been and made me whole. His love was a pure and unconditional love that made every day better than the last; a fairy tale of my very own. But this story isn't about Jake. It's about Abel Madden; the man I meet after the fairy tale goes to hell. A cocky, arrogant man who says what he wants, does as he pleases, and makes no excuses for it. He irritates me--downright pisses me off at times--but he also brings me back to life.

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets. Secrets that cost us everything to keep. That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to. Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence, due to my illness, and all were punished.

Story
Sleep, it was luxury I didn't have. I could hear it then, in the dark light of night, in the dusky morning; the click of the trigger, the smell of her blood, the sound of the rain. I never thought I would see her again. She was a ghost. She was dead. When Maggie Wright pushed her way into my life, she brought the phantom with her, and I was helpless to her pull. Everything I had, all of it, had been taken from me 10 years ago.
Summary
One night changed my life forever. Beau Bennett has been my best friend since I can remember. He was my first crush before everything came crashing down, and now he wants more, but it's more than I can give him. Things are different now. I wish I could tell him why, but I can't. I haven’t told anyone. I never knew how much I really needed him until the day he left for college, and I was completely alone. Then one day, Asher Hunt rides into town with his dark, captivating eyes and cocky grin. He doesn't care who I used to be, he's simply breathing life into what’s left. People warn me to stay away from him, but he helps me forget the pain that has held me hostage for so long; something I thought was impossible before he walked into my life. I’ve been hurt. I’ve been saved. And I’ve found hope. I thought my story was written that night, but now I know it was only a new beginning. Until one secret turns my world upside down… Again.

Most emotional and touching book
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes to credit and I loved the book. Such strong characters and story line. I was crying so hard at times I literally put my face in a pillow and took a 15 minute break from book. I will definitely pass the word on this book and narrator
What other book might you compare When It Rains to and why?
No comparison. It is so great none is needed
Have you listened to any of Jennifer Mack’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I loved the narrator. It was such a gripping performance that I felt many different feelings in this book. It was like an avelanche of emotion. From love, lust, heartbreak and anger. Loved The book and performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The confession of secrets by all characters
Any additional comments?
Get the book but have tissue and time to hear, you won't put it down but to catch your breathe

Romance with some very sad/painful moments
Well, the author did a great job with depicting horrible events in such a way as to make me feel as miserable as the characters having to go through it. There were parts of this book I just hated, not because of bad writing or anything, but they were just so painful. The first chapter in particular may be triggering to some (sexual assault).
I loved how Asher treated Kate and I thought their scenes were a positive, very romantic depiction of respect and enthusiastic consent. On the other hand I felt like some of Beau's behavior in the beginning was troubling, like when he would call Kate constantly and get angry when she didn't answer or call back. In real life that would be a huge red flag for me, but I feel like that wasn't really addressed, which was disappointing in a book dealing with sexual assault and related topics. Maybe I'm the only one who didn't like Beau.
The narrator gave a good performance for the most part. I liked her normal voice, but I wasn't crazy about most of her voicing of the male characters. Though to be fair I didn't like some of the men so I guess it was ok their voices were unappealing.

Buyer be ware!!!
This is not really romance since romance only occupies 25% and the rest is gut wrenching sadness. Should have been listed under Drama. I am so drained emotionally that I got up out of bed trying to find another book to cleanse my mind before I sleep. This is a perfect book for those of you whom love tragedies and do not mind soul consuming sadness, but this is definitely NOT my kind of romance read to relax after a hard day.

OMG AWESOME... a must read!!
Where does When It Rains rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I think this may be the best book I have read/listened to EVER!!!!!!!! Loved it!!!!!!!
What was one of the most memorable moments of When It Rains?
I loved the napkins..... I will leave it at that ......don't want to give anything away. But there were so many more too.
What does Jennifer Mack bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She did a great job.......but I think... usually if it is a good narration, its always better listening to the books... it makes the characters seem more real, life like.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Oh my, the whole book moved me! I cried soooooo much, this is a keep forever book!
Any additional comments?
The three people, Beau, Asher and Kate were all very likable, and I was torn between who to want to see together. But in the end, it worked out as best it could under the circumstances.I would definetly recommend this book, its a keeper!!!!!!!

Get help,Talk to someone ❤
This was a page turner. I am a rape survivor. Went through all these emotional roller coasters and more. It took years before I could tell anyone, about what had happened to me. Talking about it, help me to heal. So today I could read this book and without tears, because I had already cried for the little girl whose innocence was stolen. This book maybe fiction, but rape is real. And many of these men are walking around free because of the fear and the shame there victims feel after the fact. Thanks for this well written book. For any woman or man who have been a victim of rape, stop being a victim and become a survivor, by telling someone and getting help. There is no reason for you to be ashamed, you did nothing wrong.
