Summary
Gotrek & Felix, Book 6.
Fresh from the war in Praag, Gotrek and Felix are thrown into a new adventure when their old friend Ulrika Magdova is abducted. Travelling to the accursed land of Sylvania, the pair face a monstrous vampire intent on claiming Ulrika as his bride.
Listen to it because
It's a classic vampire story, complete with haunted castles, abducted maidens (well, Ulrika) and a powerful creature of the night - but with a typically Warhammer twist, of course!
The story
Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between, and depends entirely upon whom you ask....
Fresh from the siege of Praag, dwarf slayer Gotrek Gurnisson and his sworn human companion Felix Jaeger are beset by a new and terrible foe in their unceasing war against Chaos. A powerful evil is rising in darkest Sylvania, and it threatens to reach forth and tear the very heart out of the Empire - and out of Felix's relationship with Ulrika Magdova. Faced with the machinations of a powerful centuries-old vampire, can the duo's deadly battle result in anything but death and tragedy?
Written by William King. Running time 11 hours 14 minutes. Narrated by Jonathon Keeble.

This yet another fantastic story in the Warhammer universe and is expertly narrated. I have purchased to and listened to all of the previous novels with great joy. My only complaint is that I hate waiting so long for each book to be recorded and sold.

Good vampire hunter story, but not enough Gotrek.
A really good GnF book in the series, and definitely one you don't want to pass over.
It's interesting to experience more parts of the Empire since the gang has been stuck in rugged Kislev for the last books, and while the story and characters are great there is a severe lack of dwarven involvement. This book is mainly about Felix, Max, Ulrika and the vampire: Krieger, with very few scenes involving Gotrek and Snorri which I missed a lot. Hopefully they will be more involved in the next book.
In short: Lots of magic, vampires and inner monologues.
Of course the performance by Jonathan Keeble was once again stellar.

Classic Old World Adventure
Another solid effort by King—it’s great fun to be able to revisit these stories in such excellent audio editions after all these years! Keeble’s narration is magnificent, as always, and here elevates material that is entertaining but unremarkable into something really enjoyable. My favourite Gotrek and Felix tales remain the earlier, shorter ones, but this one is well worth reading for anyone who has enjoyed those.

really enjoyed it but.....
i love thses storys. but this entry would have been all the more nailbiting if ulrika was a more likeable character thoughtout the series. I love a strong female who can hold her own as the next person but the drama between felix and her as one of the main character points made me not care (as much) for her as i wish i did. I felt more emotion from the dwarfs that died during pragg than i did for her entire arch. I actually enjoyed the countess more in this book than Ulrika.
