Summary

The hot, dominant vampire god and I have a bad history together, one I can’t remember and he can’t let go.

I won’t deny the scorching heat and attraction between us, but I’ll be a fool to surrender to Marlowe’s seductive and destructive power.

And we have a bigger problem.

War, the third horseman who refused to leave Earth, has set his sight on me.

If Marlowe can’t forgive my sins and I can’t trust him again, War will take me and terror will reign on Earth.

Vampire God is the second book in this spicy wolf shifter and vampire romance trilogy. If you like enemies-to-lovers, fated mates, obsessive psycho alphas, and tough, hilarious heroine, you’ll enjoy this series.

Great Story, but kind of irritating

So this story resumes from Shifter God and I can't say it's better than the first. It picks off right where it left off and continues with the same action as before just a lot more romance which is a nice change for our Lead Female Character Pip, as I choose to call her. However, I was mildly irritated in the first book with Pip, I am extremely irritated with her now. Sometimes her mouth is funny and refreshing but other times it is just too much. It would be nice if she could have a serious attitude for once without her annoying commentary. 🙄 However, the story line is good and leaves you with a pretty knowledgeable guess as to what will happen next. It is a cliff hanger but it isn't a huge one where you want to throw the book at the wall. Slight spoiler this book does explain more of who and what she is while also explaining what has transpired between her and the Vampire God. If you are looking to listen to this book I would highly recommend listening to Shifter God first as it helps you to truly understand the the where and why.

Not as good as the first

it was a bit harder for me to listen to this book bc the FL was so annoying. When she was in danger she stalled and rambled ALOT. If you can get past the first hour the story startes getting better.

Confused

The story was interesting but the FMC was more mouthy than bad*** as she had to keep reminding folks. For a person who has NO memory of her past, who she REALLY is, or why everyone wants her alive or died she has an attitude. The smart phases are irritating after awhile. Also I was confused how she had music, history, and movie trivia knowledge but does not know her real name.
The story would have been better if it flowed better and made sense. I was confused from book 1. I thought this book would have answered questions but not and if she called other person sweetcheeks I would roll my eyes out my head.

First time I stopped a book mid scene

I really enjoyed the story line, but the spicy scenes seem to be written all weird and maybe by a man? I think the author could have skipped writing those scenes. It would get a 2 of of 5 chili's for spicy..

Absolutely brilliant!

I loved this story when I read it, but I enjoyed the audio book even more. I will admit that I binged it in one day. I didn't regret it while I was listening, but now I'm sad that I finished it so fast. Being able to listen while I was cleaning, running to the grocery store, and playing with my puppy was the perfect way to spend my day. Victoria Mei has a beautiful voice, and she does a fantastic job of switching between characters. She's a joy to listen to.

I love all of Ms Xuemei X's books and I highly recommend this one.

What happened to the MFC?! DNF

Okay, first let me start by saying Book 1 was great! I was super excited about book 2. However, I realized right away the MFC was going to irritate me. I’m usually very good at dealing with my own emotions and seeing it through the authors POV. But Pip? No, I could not finish the book. I literally could not take it. I made to to chapter 20 and stopped. Has this happened to me before? Only once.
Okay back to pip. She’s disrespectful, not quirky, not sweet, not bada**, constantly doing things that will “make” her look “cool” because she wants to be that. Her comebacks are childish at best, and whether or not her memory is intact or not her actions are not because she’s bold. It’s out of sensitivity, emotions, and super low self-esteem. She’s also constantly talking about how bad things have been for her and that was brought up way too much.
Ugh. I hate talking bad about the book because the story line was amazing!!! 👌 However, the MFC ruined it all for me.
By all means, if you can deal with that type of MFC read the book. I get invested in books, even ones with bad characters—this was was wayyyy too much.
