Summary
It is time for Dillon Mitchell to start living again.
Since the death of her wife three years ago, Dillon had buried herself in her work. When an invitation arrives for Tiffany Daniels’ exclusive birthday party, her best friend persuades her to join them for the weekend.
It’s not the celebration that draws her but the location. The party is being held at the Whitaker Estate, one of the hottest tickets on the West Coast. The estate once belonged to an eccentric survivalist whose family converted it into a trendy destination while preserving some of its original history.
Surrounded by a roomful of successful lesbians, Dillon finds herself drawn to Skylar Lange, the mysterious and elusive bartender. Before the two can finish their first dance, a scream shatters the evening. When the partygoers emerge from the underground bunker, they discover something terrible has happened at the estate.
The group races to try to discover the cause of this upheaval and whether it’s isolated to the estate. Has the world as we know it changed forever?

absolutely amazing
I like survival/apocalypse books, films etc, but few are even 4☆, if this series carries on the same,,,, then this is a SIX ☆
the story unfolds after a bday party is interrupted by screams and the discovery of lots of dead bodies
the writing is superb, with 23 characters individually crafted, and a few survivors elsewhere. emotions run wild with not knowing the cause and no experts in party but 1 doctor
I was taken in fully, not knowing what I would do, and then a shocking ending leaving me wanting more, audible usual trick of not purchasing rights to series, I'm off to Google play.
oh, and the narration is fabulous, bit fast but,,, the inflection of emotion and range of voices only adds to this amazing listen.

Apocalypse
It took me a while to get used to the narration as the voice basically stayed the same rather than the usual changes for characters. However once I got past that I could enjoy the story. I do enjoy a post apocalyptic tales and this one is working well with the dynamic between the good/bad factions.

Enjoyed it!
The author and the narrator did a great job. When I read a book like to take the authors words and create a picture in my mind. Now that I am listening to books more I want the narrator to help me do the same. I want her to HELP me not do it for me with a performance. I enjoyed how the narrator was able to change the tone just slightly so I could tell there was a different character, but did NOT perform the story which would have created HER vision and robbed me of that opportunity.

The book itself was good.
The narrator for this story was robotic at times but not always. The books itself was good, I read the series so far released. I am not discouraging anyone from trying this because I love dystopian books in general. Overall still worth the credit!
