Forever grateful I read this book.
Grateful that I read it, or grateful that Will Guidara wrote it? Either way, every page is a window into his infinite wisdom. I don’t work in hospitality (as such) but reading this book gave me the energy to apply for my next levelling up position and who knows where that’ll take me?
From watching the Netflix documentary about EMP, and seeing what an amazing leader W.G is, to finally trying that Duck at Davies and Brook, his journey is one I’ve followed and will continue to do so.
I recommend this book if you need that pep talk (in a non-condescending way). Or to light that fire in your belly in general or if want to know how to take your business to the next level.

Grateful to Simon Sinek for recommending this one
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was surprised to find that even though I do not work in hospitality I found myself hooked! A great writer and a great journey to feel like I’ve joined him on.
A lot of lessons which I can learn from and apply in my own business.

Thought provoking and entertaining
Enjoyed very much every moment of this book, Will is totally engaging and his passion for hospitality is obvious - however it’s very easy to transfer his learnings across to many other industries without too much drama and honest reflection on his time at Nomad and EMP the hardback has made its way onto my shelf as well. Great job!

A Stratification What it Means to Be of Service
I'm writing this review just after finishing the book. I never write reviews, but felt compelled in response to the enormous amount of beneficial business and relationship lessons I've learned from this book.
Throughout the three days it took me to listen to this audiobook, I realized that I had made progress at improving communication with my wife. I had been frustrated at my inability to break through some of her walls and deepen our connection. We were able to have an effective and critical conversation about our finances, because I used what I learned in this book. She's very timid and fearful about change, and often feels guilty when she doesn't live up to other people's standard. When I was vulnerable about my own shortcomings and promised to take accountability for the process of budgeting, I noticed she was significantly more open to working with me to accomplish our financial goals. This was a walk that I hadn't been able to break for a year, and it happened in a near instant thanks to Will Guidara.
In this book, I learned that apologizing doesn't mean that I'm wrong, that people have different responses to different forms of criticisms, and most importantly, that a deeper connection can only be formed through being honest, vulnerable, and by standing up for, and taking accountability for excellence and loving others.
As a bonus, I also learned that I need to take P&L statement seriously and get creative in managing expenses if I'm ever going to run a profitable and successful business.

An amazing and very inspirational book
An amazing and very inspirational book, a must read regardless of the industry, the concepts and teachings shared by Will Guidara apply to anyone who wants to bring their life and their profession to the very very top, no matter how impossible it may seem.

Mixed feelings
I don’t regret choosing this book, and I think I learned some worthwhile things about the hospitality industry as a result of listening and staying with it to the end. . . BUT it did begin to seem grindingly repetitive before it was over, so much so that I occasionally felt very grateful that I didn’t work for this guy and have to listen to one of his pep talks, over and over, and then I would also think, wait a minute, that’s what I’m doing.
