Summary
When two dead bodies are found inside a wrecked car on the Golden Gate Bridge, Detective Lindsay Boxer doubts that it will be anything as simple as a traffic accident. The scene is more gruesome than anything she has seen before. It definitely wasn’t the crash that killed these people. While Lindsay starts to piece this case together, she gets a call she wasn’t expecting. Sightings of her ex-colleague-turned-ruthless-killer Mackie Morales have been reported.

Chick flick book
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?
I listened on a long drive with my girlfriend, I thought I going for a crime thriller but it turned out to be a chick flick/no real character building/no real ending. Hope she picks a better one next time
Has Unlucky 13 put you off other books in this genre?
No
Would you listen to another book narrated by January Lavoy?
Yes
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment

A bit of a mixed bag
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not my favourite audio book, a crime genre story aimed at the female market, Cagney and Lacey meets Charlie's Angels. I didn't enjoy it much as found it far fetched and too rambling .
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The main story thread had a rather stupid way of killing its victims, but that was pretty much glossed over and forgotten as other story lines came to the fore and took over.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I enjoyed the idea of pirates invading a modern day cruise ship, the author has obviously never seen the huge cruise ships of today or imagined the sheer technical impossibility of drawing up along side and boarding from small craft ( without the ships assistance ) .
Could you see Unlucky 13 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
Oh it will be no doubt.
Any additional comments?
If you're completely devoid of logic and want to sit back and enjoy a white knuckle ride , you'll love it.

sleep tight but I am looking forward for
I was not as keen on the narrator as I have been on other books. I have not heard all of this book as I listened to it in bed and went to sleep. now I can't turn the page on this device back to where I was last listening to it.

Def one for the girls
Would you try another book written by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro or narrated by January Lavoy?
Yes, but not this series.
Would you ever listen to anything by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro again?
yes, possibly, but not this series, far to much of a chick flick.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Very american, and the accent did grate after a while.
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
no.
