Summary

Moving in with a billionaire playboy is supposed to be some sort of Cinderella story, right? I’m supposed to be having the time of my life while living the dream.

Wrong.

When the bank took our home, it didn’t come as a surprise. The bomb was when mom told me we were moving out of Breakers Flats, away from my crew, and to a place that existed only in fairy tales - Bellevue Springs. Home of the insanely beautiful, rich, and famous.

Only, Bellevue Springs is far from a fairy tale. It’s a nightmare full of secrets, horrors, and the ugly reality of the 1 percenters, but without this move, mom and I are up sh*t creek without a paddle.

We don’t belong here - not even as the help.

I should have been prepared. I should have done my homework, so at least that way I wasn’t blindsided by Charles Carrington’s son; my new housemate.

Colton F--king Carrington.

He’s the definition of an arrogant, entitled prick, and he’s determined to make my life a living hell. Guess what, Colton? Where I’m from, you don’t start a war unless you intend to finish it, and that’s exactly what I plan to do.

You can’t take down a girl who has nothing left to lose.

We may be on your territory, but this is my game.

Warning: Rejects Paradise is a new-adult, dark-high-school bully-romance series. It features dark themes and mature content.

Oooooooo loved it!

Sheridan Anne is one of all time fav authors. This book just reaffirms why. So many twist and turns, and emotions while listening, made me on the edge of my seat for the entire book. The narrator is new to me. I am not sure if she has more narrations out there or not, but I may have to check and see. I think she did a wonderful job. The voices were distinct and engaging. The flow and speed of her reading was nice. Her voice was pleasant, I really enjoyed listening. Back to the book, man, if cliff hangers are a hard limit for you, let me say, this one was a doozy. Be forewarned. I cannot wait to listen to more. I hope the same narrator reads again.

intense!

well this book is really intense. looking forward to no.2, even if i have an idea of what is going to happen and i am kind of getting anxiety over it already. this story is full or hard realities people live daily and i liked how stongly the FC is portrayed to be. at 17, she has seen way too much s**t. i like that she is not ashamed to say what she wants and can defend herself (when possible)
at times i felt like the bullyism was being dragged way too far, but i overall liked the book. lessa lamb is absolutely PERFECT for the role. she did an amazing job.

Wow, what an unexpected twist that was!
This book grabs you by the balls and holds on tight. Definitely a thrilling ride of a story with all kinds of heart as heat! This is not my usual genre but it was done so well that I really enjoyed it. I struggled to put it down and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!!
Warning: there is a cliffhanger, with one of the biggest bombs out there!
Lessa Lamb did phenomenal as narrator! I’m already a huge fan but she totally blew this book up with her Awesomeness. And she does headstrong girls/woman with complete strength and badassery!
You will need be disappointed in giving this book a try!

(There are some moments that may be triggers for some, with sexual Assult and bullying.)

Contemporary mature academy

First of all, I need to say I'm not a fan of academy - I'm an ex teacher and I don't have time for that mean girl eyeroll drama that can come with it... *BUT* I'd heard great things about this series so when the opportunity for a reviewer copy came up I was interested to get hold of it

This turned it all on it's head for me: Ocean is thoughtful, mature and not afraid to take a hard look at herself and her actions. She's also the antithesis of the naive virgin heroine in the last book I read of that age group and I absolutely love that about her. This book had what is the absolute holy grail for me, too: a plot twist that I didn't see coming.

I was also checking out what other books this narrator had done by the end of chapter 3 - I'd love to hear more of her and I can't wait for the next book :)

Dark Sh*t you can't stop listening to

I LOVED this book! I couldn't put it down, so I got SO much done, since I went through the 12+ hours in two days and I couldn't sit down while listening. 😏

The narrator, Lessa Lamb, was PERFECT as Ocean. Not a huge distinction between the other voices, but since Ocean is doing most of the talking and thinking, it worked out.

It's a DARK romance, and if you have triggers, you should heed them. I don't, and though I was gnashing my teeth at times at how the characters treated each other, I love the dark Cinderella-type story line, and the character build throughout the book. Can't wait for the next book on audio. Literally - had to cheat and get #2 on Kindle, while waiting, but I will listen once it gets here. 🤩

Lessa Lamb is PERFECT for Ocean. I have never loved a narrator more for a character as much as I do with Lessa Lamb! YOU NEED IT IN YOUR LIFE! Trust me!

Tough Sh t

Talk about intense! I think I may have a book hangover after this one. So much drama and torment that keeps you hooked just to know what reaction will be had next. I will warn you that there is definite triggers so beware! That being said I LOVED this book and with the way it ends I can only hope the next will be released ASAP!

Ocean and Colton!

After the death of her father Ocean’s entire life has been upended when her mother accepts a live-in housekeeping job for an affluent family. Although they live in a less than ideal neighborhood Ocean must leave the four men who even though they are high ranking members of a gang have always protected her. To make things more difficult Dom, one of the men used to be her boyfriend.

When they arrive at their new home the only person that is welcoming is Charles Carrington the man that owns the house. The staff are less than friendly and Charles son Colton and his friends are even worse. The situation only becomes more difficult when she finds herself the only female attending an all boys school and she is drawn to Colton, the one person who rather than stopping the tormenting behavior against her chooses to exacerbate it instead.

Ocean is strong and determined to stand up for herself while Colton is a bit a enigma that leaves us wondering what his true agenda is. This story does end on a cliffhanger that leaves us wondering what the future holds for Ocean, Colton and both their crews. Although this is a single narration I thought the narrator did a great job with ensuring the individuality of each of the characters. 🎧The Flock

Hop in the Veneno🇮🇹 it's about to go from 0-60⚠️

Wow, this story completely threw me for a loop. Dark HS Bully Romances are my favourite genre, but at this point, they're all starting to blend together --except this one! The billionaire patriarch is divorced, but did not remarry. The playbôy son did not lose his mother in a car accident. The dad does not act creepy around the h's mother nor herself. There are no nasty mean girls around. In fact, all the girls are sweet, albeit absent from the scene. The h is too proud for her own good, but at least she has a thick skin. She is stuck between two different worlds: her boys, the ones she left behind, all caught up in gang-related activities, and the rich entitled pr!cks who want to get into her pants. Both groups clash with each other; she is torn between wanting a better life, and feeling guilty for doing just that.

Now what's baffling me is the abundance of unexplained, missing pieces of information! There's not enough details relating to what happened to Ocean's dad. Was he a part of the Black Widows? Is that how she met her boys? They're all several years older than her. Isn't that considered statutory-rāpë to be dating a minor? If that's the case, why is her mom still cool with that? How can O say she's not friends with girls because "they're all b*tchy" when it's actually her who has an extremely abrasive attitude? Why did no one stop to question why she was enrolled into that particular school, or consider the fact that sexual assault was highly probable to happen? How much money and influence does it take for that to not happen and for everybody to turn a blind eye?

Out of the four guys, I only liked two: Charlie and Colton. But even then, they're all selfish jerkwãds. I got frustrated with the constant hot and cold, push and pull aspect to Colton's and Ocean's relationship. That little oil grease stunt reminds me of when Cole didn't do anything to save Silver from getting the ever living sh-- kicked out of her in "Ruthless Empire." Both H's should have stepped in, but they didn't. It's as if she's a dirty little secret and he's punishing her for the way she's making him feel. For once, the h is the one who is kissing and sleeping around instead of the H. She and his bestie actually get further along than she does with him! I have to admit, that was straight🔥 (I might have to bookmark it for future reference -winky face-). Though I'm also pretty sure this is not a reverse harem. The bullying here is quite DARK. Trigger warnings, beware! Sheridan Anne is not afraid to go there, to cross the last inch of the proverbial moral line.

Charles's mercurial behaviour... he's welcoming one minute, and then punishing the next. Are all of the wealthy just narcissistic, sadistic sociopaths? Ready to use one another, best them, and to usurp their assets? That toxic lifestyle is bound to include a large number of enemies. Also, how could the guys even be friends with Jude? What's the deal here? Is it just all about appearances? He had no redeeming qualities AT ALL! At least the other three had a modicum of a conscience. I also did not like Nic... he kept glossing over his infidelity and was super possessive when he ought not be. It's as if Milo is the only decent person in the whole story! Thank goodness Ocean had him, otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to survive at BSC at all.

Okay, okay, I sound like a major hater here, but I actually believe this story was pretty awesome! You could even say that it "GOT UNDER MY SKIN." Here are a few examples of why: like how come nobody uses their cellphones during emergencies? If someone repeatedly attempts to hurt you, why would you leave yourself vulnerable by being alone time and time again? There's stubborn and then there's just being plain stupid. So much bad sh-- keeps happening to her, but it's like she doesn't stop to think. She's super impulsive with little self-control. They didn't even bother to apprehend and secure the dude. That one classroom bell scene was super cringey too.

The ending is a cliffhanger that is both shocking and 100% unexpected. I'm super excited to listen to the rest of the books in this series! I laughed with Milo and Oceania's comfortable joking banter. Milo calling Harrison the house b*tch was priceless! Lessa Lamb's narration was immensely enjoyable. She truly carried the entire story with her decent range of voices. Her usual deeply alluring voice for the H's is top notch. Also, finally knowing the reason why Colton called her Jade just made me swoon for him! We must protect that beautifully broken boy at all costs.

So Many Jaw-Dropping Moments....

This was my first book by this author and I went in completely blind and wow, just wow! I am a big fan of the bully trope and darker books in general, and I will just throw it out there now that I read to escape reality and don't always expect the books I read to be based 100% in reality. If I did it would probably ruin my reading experience, particularly I find when it comes to bully books and books where the characters are in high school. But, I digress. This book was definitely interesting and engaging and it definitely kept me wondering what in the world was going to happen next because there was seriously so much drama it really just never stopped.

Ocean grew up in a world where gang life was the norm and having no money for food was actually a thing. When things get bad enough, her mom takes a job in an affluent community as a live-in maid, where Oceania begins to learn things might just possibly be able to get worse.

Colton seems to get a lot of pleasure out of making Ocean's life miserable, aside from the times where he is actually saving her, and Ocean can't seem to figure him out. A perfect jekyll and hyde perhaps?

This book is full of lies, manipulation, betrayal and a bunch of jaw-dropping, did that really just happen moments. Just when you think you maybe have a grasp on the book, you don't. There are a lot of twisted scenarios. I can't wait to get more of Ocean and her crew and see what happens with Ocean and Colton and Colton's friends.

I listened to the audiobook for this story and Lessa Lamb did a phenomenal job with the telling of this story. She did such a fantastic job with the voices throughout the story and the emotion she put into her voice to help tell the story, that it really helped paint a picture of the characters and all the emotion throughout the book. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

A bully romance!

This was a dark, depraved, high school bully romance.

This was definitely have beem amazing with a duet narration. I loved Lessa Lamb's narration though. She did a great job.

I am definitely obsessed with this genre and admit I was first drawn in by the gorgeous cover.

But this book delivered so much more. The angst was high andbInwas definitely loving it.

If you enjoy a good high school bully dark romance with a ton of angst, look no further.

I love this series!

This series is one of my favorites from Sheridan Anne. I absolutely love the voice of the female actor. I do with that it was dual Narration because it’s tough for a woman to do a mans voice, but I still loved this audible either way! Leesa does such amazing justice to Ocean! Can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out!!!

dark, intense

Oceana is strong, she has to be. Growing up with gangs and violence. She could always count on her 4 boys in the Black Widow gang, to protect her. After her father was murdered, Oceana and her mom aren't able to survive on their own. Her mom wanted a better life. She found a job working as a live-in maid. 2 hours away.
Ocean has a new kind of problem, moving into the large estate of the Carringtons.
She knows she would never fit in with them. But that doesn't mean she would back down from any trouble. Ocean learns fast the only person she can count on to survive, is herself.
Colton is the entitled, conceited, overbearing son of Charles Carrington. His actions are meant to remind her of her place in society. She would always be trash and "the help".
The more Colton and his boys push her, the more she pushes back. Oceana knows this would be a challenge. She's ready. She can handle any trouble that comes her way. but can she? How far will Colton torment her before she breaks?
Sheridan Anne's bully romance, has plenty of twists and turns. There's a lot of drama, and angst. This first book lays the groundwork for what is to come in this amazing series. This story kept me intrigued and wanting for more! OMG, What an unexpected cliffhanger!
Lessa Lamb voices and personalities for each character were spot on! Especially Ocean's friend Milo! She portrayed Ocean at her strongest, weakest and most vulnerable moments.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story.

Great book

From beginning to the end you’ll be captivated. The story and some characters you will find that you love or hate. But all in all. It’s a fascinating and well written story. Narrator does an excellent job bringing it to life. She did great. I honestly recommend this and can’t wait to get the installment.

Tough Sh*t

Tough Sh*t is the first book in the Rejects Paradise series. I've wanted to read this series for a while, so when I saw they were coming to audio I was very excited. After listening to the first book I can say I was not disappointed! I can't wait for the next three to come out! This is defiantly one of my favorite books, and I will probably finish the series and then relisten to all of the audiobooks when they come out!

This book is told from Ocean's point of view. She lives on the wrong side of the tracks and has had struggles making it. After her father passes away she is moved to the rich and elite when her mom takes a housekeeping job. While at this job she meets Colton whom is her mother's employer's son. Her mother's employer sends her to his school which is a all boys school.

While Ocean is at this school so many things happen to her. She gets blamed for being a girl, however she won't let anyone take her down and she does what she has to survive! Ocean is a tough girl and I loved every minute of her! Colton wants nothing to do with her (or so it seems.)

The ending to this book was crazy and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

So good!!!

Sheridan Anne is a new to me author, and this series is proving her to be fantastic. It's one of those listens that will make you smile, and make you cringe. It has characters you will love and some you will love to hate. And at times you just question the thinking of them! But that is the draw for me. This bully romance is truly that. There is no sugar coating. Ocean is forced to move with her mother to a rich neighborhood. After growing up in Breaker Flats with her best friends in the Black Widow gang, she is pretty miserable. And Colton, the son of her mother's employer and his friends are not going to make life any easier for her. There is a lot of anger, frustration and passion in this story, and we don't know all the details yet, so I am looking forward to see where it goes in the next installment. It is sure to give us all the feels!

Lessa Lamb narrates this and she is fantastic. Every time I hear a book of hers I am impressed. She brings out the personality of each of the characters in this story, each their own voice and really gives an amazing performance. I loved her as the boys, as there are quite a few all with different angles. And as Ocean, she brings out all the emotions and keeps her strong. It's a great narration!
