Summary
Best-selling author Lucy Score returns to Knockemout, Virginia, following fan-favorite Things We Never Got Over with Knox's brother Nash's story.
Police Chief Nash Morgan is known for two things: Being a good guy and the way his uniform accentuates his butt. Two bullets put a dent in that Southern charm but—thankfully—spared his spectacular rear end.
He’s got his hands full with the man who shot him still on the loose, healing wounds, and citizens who think of the law as more of a “guideline”. Throw in the gloomy mood that clings to him, and the last thing he needs is a smart-mouthed, gorgeous new neighbor making him feel things he doesn’t have the energy to feel.
Lina has her reasons for being in town. She’s on a mission and the fewer people that find out about it, the better. She does her best work alone, and as soon as she finds what she’s after, she’s hitting the road for the next solo adventure.
Too bad the town of Knockemout has other ideas. Soon Lina finds herself sucked into small-town life.

Heartstoppingly amazing
If it was possible to give this story more than five stars it would get them! The narrators were fantastic but the material that they were working with is heartstoppingly amazing. I didn't think that it would be possible to surpass Knox and Naomi's story but Lucy achieved it. Nash and Lina's story made me laugh out loud (my husband and kids thought I was having some kind of episode 😝) and (ugly) cry buckets.... if you only read or listen to ONE book this year make it this one (that's how good it is), you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely lovely!
A thoroughly enjoyable story! Well-rounded, relatable characters & fantastic writing! Some definite laugh-outloud moments, but the story also touches on a number of serious issues... Written with so much love, it makes you want to pack up and move to Knockemout! SebYo shines like the superstar he is, and Lila Winters is simply brilliant!

Wonderful - Love the Addition of Drag Queen Story Hour
I didn’t think this would top Things We Never Got Over, but it is right there with it for excellence. Simply put, this story was chef’s kiss - perfect!
Great story telling, a good level of spiciness. I also like how the people of Knock ‘em Out can be big hearted, and big minded. I wish I could move there.

How does Lucy Score just get better and better??
I love Lucy Score and anxiously await the release of anything new from one of my very favorite authors and she does not disappoint.
The story of Nash and Lina is perfection - both carry emotional baggage and this is a story of two strong, stubborn, independent personalities finding their groove together.
All our favorites are here and I cannot wait for Sloan and Lucian's story.
I absolutely love the fact that Knockemout is a town that treats everyone with love and acceptance and joy - each and every quirky one of them
If you have a problem with that...that is your issue.
The narration was perfect.

The Best Kind of Story
Story: 5 🌟 (chefs kiss of perfection) round of 👏
Spice level - 🌶🌶🌶
Re-read/re-listen: Duh!! So good.
Recommend: Yes! This book this series is everything!
Troupe: Slow Burn opposites attract.
Narration: 5 🌟 with a standing ovation!! Sebastian York and Lila Winter.
Story:
From Lucy Scores Acknowledgements-Lina and Nash taught me is that the best kind of love is the one you are brave enough to give freely.-
Well, my hell! I knew this book was going to be epic. But dammmnnnnn, it exceeded my level of epic and went beyond awesome-sauce and straight to words that haven't been invented yet. I truly love this story, this town, the characters. It is so well written. There were a few parts that made me tear up. We have two wounded characters that didn't even realize they needed each other was there attraction and schmexy chemistry when they first met? Of course, but their level of connection at that point has just skimmed the surface.
Nash is recovering from being shot and a target while he was on duty. Lina is running from old wounds from her past and keeping everyone at arms length.
We get the same characters from TWNGO l. Miss Tweedy is hilarious and that gym group. My hell, I was laughing throughout that entire scene. The banter is spot on. Seriously, they are not enough eloquent words to describe how incredible this book and the series, so far, has been.
Narration:
Sebastian York and Lila Winters are pure freaking gold. The end! Okay, not really(the end, I mean) they are amazing narrators. They brought the story to life. Well done.

Nash & Lina being vulnerable is romance gold
The long awaited follow up to TWINGO is finally here and what a triumphant follow up it is. Lucy doesn’t write short book and it’s always slow burn to a flare up with nuggets of witty one liners and a school of the best secondary characters you can find. Whether it’s the soccer game scene or the Girls Day out with Stef at the biker bar it is pure Lucy and just romance gold.
But back to Nash and Lina. Take a depressed and anxious Chief of Police and a kick ass and secretive insurance investigator with a secret health history and it’s everything I could ask for in a romance novel. They showed so much vulnerability that it’s truly breathtaking. They really tag on my heartstrings and make me cheer for their HEA.
Be prepared to snort laugh and grab some Kleenex because that’s how Lucy rolls. I can’t wait for Lucy and Sloane’s book because the hate and snark will be epic!

Knockemout was just as wonderful in book 2. I already cannot wait for book 3 to come out. The story is fantastic, the chemistry is 🔥 and the bonus epilogue made me cry tears of happiness. ❤️
