Much shorter than I would have liked but very good

Brilliant narration. Much shorter than I would have liked but very good, as Roddy Doyle always is

Laugh out loud

It’s been on my list to read for nearly 20 years and I’m glad I finally got to it. The performance was great

last part of the trilogy, farewell to the Rabbits

the final part of the Barrytown trilogy. You grow to love the Rabbits laugh and worry with them and enjoy their triumphs. All three parts brilliantly read. Thank you

Roddy Doyle is a genius

Forgot how funny this book is and even better narrated by the one and only Mr Brendan Gleeson which brings more of Dub feel to the story. Would recommend this book it’s Dubliners at their best quick wit with a hint of loving sarcasm. 10/10

Brilliant! My all-time favourite novel

Roddy Doyle never fails to deliver the goods and The Van is possibly my favourite book ever.

This a great version but my only regret is that it's been abridged and consequently (for me) loses a little of the layering and complexity of the full text. That said it's a fantastic exploration of the relationships between grown men, their companionship, tensions and petty niggles so often suppressed until they reach a tipping point.

Brendan Gleeson does a 'grand job' narrating and the story is hilarious and poignant in turns.

As a standalone listen for anyone never having read the book it's still superb and very well worth buying as indeed are all his Roddy Doyle's books.
