It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Story
It’s been a rough time for Gus Berry. He barely survived the city of Annapolis as its population underwent a violent transformation, leaving everyone he knew or loved either dead or undead. Things aren’t much better now, though. In fact, things might have become much worse. Living off the land, foraging for food, water, even medicine, and being able to adapt to a changing environment…it all takes a special individual, with an exceptional skill set and determination to survive. Gus Berry is not that individual.

Summary
A full year of blood and tears has passed for Adrian Ring. As the dead remain hateful, the living are more desperate than ever: Winter approaches, and supplies are dwindling.
Meanwhile the conflict with the monsters at the factory is reaching a boiling point. But Adrian won't have to fight alone. Kevin and Michelle, his unwitting compatriots in the scheme to save the world, are following signs and portents to make their way to a hero they don't yet know. To meet them Adrian will have to weather treachery, starvation, violent attacks...and, perhaps worst of all, the temptation of an easy way out.
The Trinity, the seventh book of Adrian's Undead Diary, splits the world wide open. The inner workings of good and evil - and what happened on "that day" in Washington, DC - will finally be revealed. The endgame begins.
The Trinity contains Adrian's diary entries from September 2, 2011, to December 22, 2011. It's also the home of the side fictions "White Blood Cell", "The Factory", "Dreams of a Dying Man", "The Road to Bastion", and "A Stranger Among Us".

Still Good But Sometimes Redundant
The story is good, but there are sections in between the diary from an omniscient POV, which is great...BUT...they generally spend too much telling the listener things they already know...so I am not sure the purpose of this, it happens and goes on long enough to be quite irritating...If it were a quick synopsis that would be okay, but even then not sure the overall purpose.
The other part that is a common thread through these books is the ridiculous amount of times the author talks about masturbating or wanting to. I am not a prude, but it is excessive and gets a little stupid...It was a mildly amusing the first few times, but now its plain annoying.
That all being said, the meat of the story is great...I like the different take on how the zombies originated...It's unique and it's hard to have a unique spin on the zombie story. Also, I like the supporting characters, they're pretty good.
Overall, it's still a good series and definitely looking forward to listening to the next one. #zombies #Apocalypse #Suspenseful #TorturedHero #currentday #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Almost there
This is the seventh book in the Adrian's Undead Diary series. You will need to have read the others to enjoy this one. If you have read into the series this far, keep reading! You won't be disappointed. There is only one more after this. This book has the journal format of the other books as well as vignettes like those featured in the last book. This book still has action and survival, but as the series progresses, each book really settles into character and story development. These are not only gory zombie fare. The story is really getting interesting. I won't give away any spoilers, but it's getting intense!
I have listened to this entire series (more than once). I have loved every book. The story line is great. Each book has small daily plots as well as an overarching plot making each book a complex mixture of ideas and emotions. The character development is fantastic. It is the apocalypse story that has a little something for everyone. Gun porn - check. Tactical discussion - check. Actual daily survival - check. Emotional and personal interactions - check. Zombie killing - check. Funny stuff - check. NotTooOverTheTop spiritual elements - check. you get the idea.
This book and the rest of the series is all good stuff. Seriously.
James Foster is great. Perfect.
