Summary

A dangerous secret. A vicious plot. Visions of the past. While Jack Garrison is forever a changed man free of his bitterness, his future looks uncertain. After protecting him from a terrorist attack, the girl he loves, Bette Deekmann, struggles to stay alive all while harboring a dangerous secret. As her past comes to light, Jack finds himself wondering - who is she, really? While he digs deeper into her mysterious identity, his visions of the past continue to draw him into Israel’s history. But, soon, Jack begins to see that both Bette and Israel are a part of God’s bigger plan as well as the focus of an age-old battle - a violent and dangerous war. Prophecy, history, and captivating story-telling intertwine as Ray Bentley and Bodie Thoene reveal the second installment of The Elijah Chronicles: The Threshing Floor.

More than a novel

This book did not disappoint. Anything by Bodie is a classic to read and re read. Would love to have audio available for the Chronicles, Covenant, and Shiloh series!

In site full story telling

I loved this book as I have loved the other works of Brodie Thoene. She does excellent thorough research regarding historical events. She shines a light upon them that yields understanding to why they had meaning to the lives of those in their time, but more importantly, she enlightens our understanding why these events are relevant to my life now. She gives an artful testimony of Jesus Christ and of the reality that God knows and is mindful of each of us.

Great insight into end times prophesy

I liked the insight into end times prophesy and the historical background of the establishment of the state of Israel. The story didn’t always flow smoothly—especially the relationship between Jack and Bet. The end felt like a chapter got dropped and we just fast forwarded to it being finished. Still it was an enjoyable story with lots of interesting background.

Very much enjoyed this book in the series. Ray and Bodie weave together an exciting and historical adventure. Love the prophecy and the characters who are strong and vulnerable.

Addicted To This Series Too!!

Greg Simms is doing a great job with such great materials.

I've been reading, buying and while still working before I had to stop, seriously selling and recommending every Thoene book I could get my hands on. After the first of two brain surgeries, it became difficult to hold onto books because my hands just "open" of their own accord. Losing my place constantly was super frustrating. So when I saw that Audible had some of their books available, I was overjoyed. I enjoy a wide variety of topics, from history to romance to mystery and especially Scripture. All of this is presented in Thoene books. This series, so timely and appropriate, reminds me of those that came before and yet have their own seriously addicting flavor as well. Bentley is a fantastic addition to the team, and I've read several of his alone. Always well worth the time and money!! Now...on to the Cyrus Mandate😁😁😁

Not as good as book 1

They changed the narrator which I thought would be a positive but though the narrator is less monotone he often just has the wrong tone, it's too upbeat and just feels off. I had to stop listening after only a few chapters because the story just seemed to go in another direction and became much less interesting.
