Summary

The Story of a Soul conveys St. Therese of Lisieux's "Little Way" of spiritual childhood - her "elevator" to Heaven, as she called it. This method was approved by Pope Pius XI as a way for all to grow in holiness through unfailing confidence and childlike delight in God's merciful love.

Again and again in this audiobook, St. Therese shows us how her "Little Way" of love and trust comes straight from Sacred Scripture.

This audiobook belongs in every Catholic home, for Pope St. Pius X called St. Therese of Lisieux the "greatest Saint of modern times".

Beautiful Soul

I purchased this book because I couldn’t understand from my research what extra quality St Thérèse had to make her a saint.
After reading this book In her own words, I cannot believe that such a beautiful soul could even exist.
She has inspired me so much and if only once I could follow her little ways and thoughts, I will be happy.
Only by reading this book will you know what real love is.

spiritual

having only briefly heard of St Therese ,I went in hoping to discover more about faith, love & spiritual gifts. how i was not disappointed, the narrator's display was sent by divine guidance. I am in awe of both the story, St Therese & the narrator. God bless

I love this book. the reading like in kindergarten

I have a hard time listening to the unnatural cadence and the choppy over annunciation.
The reader sounds like she is reading a children's story.

Amazing Narration of a Great Book!

The content of this book is very rich and thought proving. It is also inspiring and causing a reader to evaluate his/her way of honoring God. I listened to this book on audible and I have to say that the narration was absolutely outstanding! I am convinced that reading it on my own would make it dry at times, but the performance of the narrator is so perfect and impeccable that it made even the most difficult passages interesting. I never thought of how important the performance of the narrator is before. I surely recommend this book! It's full of love and absolutely incredible insights!

Saint Theresa the little flower.

I always wondered what was so great about Saint Theresa, the little flower. What did she do, why is she considered a saint, anyway? Now I know the answer.

St Therese of Lisieux is an incredible witness to us all

I loved the anecdotes and how she managed to explain how we can be martyrs in love for the glory of Christ. I highly recommend this book to all looking for a way to make their ordinary lives an offering to God

Narrator Comment

Flawed presentation. The syrupy tone of the reader was very distracting at times. She doesn't sound sincere. The speech is very affected and I feel a natural tone of voice would have been perfect,

The Least Among You

Consider the ant as a model for your toils.
I'm reminded of Civil War General Ulysses Grant who failed in business 3 times before leading men into battle to die. God chooses our suffering and then we endure it helplessly.

spiritual classic that deserves its reputation

the simplicity of St. Therese is unique and irresistible. I enjoy reading Aquinas, et. al so I was skeptical -- worried this would be too saccharine, but it's not. now I see why she was made a doctor of the church. The narrator does an excellent job of conveying the innocence and simplicity of the saint. a great book.
