Nick loves his post as the princess’s security detail. Unfortunately, the bullet that ripped through his shoulder put a stop to pretty much everything in his life for a while, and his bosses have plans for him that don’t include sitting at headquarters with the other guards, drinking beer in his off-hours. They’ve assigned him a medical professional and banished him to the lake house for rehab. Which wouldn’t be so bad, but his new babysitter isn’t at all what he expected. The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Well, technically, I’d met him 20 minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment. I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut. As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss. Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought.... Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.

Summary
The Scandal is an all-new marriage of convenience, age-gap novel from New York Times best-selling author Kristen Proby, set in her Single in Seattle Series, featuring Stella McKenna!
Who knew that weddings in Vegas were the real deal? I certainly didn’t when I agreed to marry my coworker while on a bender in Sin City. Now, I need a quick annulment, which means I need an attorney, STAT.
Honestly, with a name like Grayson Sterling, Esquire, I expected an old man in a three-piece suit. But the guy behind the desk is anything but stuffy and old. Tall and sexy with tattoos and striking blue eyes, I simply can’t take my eyes off him, and I have no intention of declining his offer of a date…and more. So much more!
The conversation between us is good, and the man should win awards for his bedroom escapades. I find myself trusting him in ways I never thought I would—until he breaks that trust.
Gray insists he can fix it.
He claims he loves me.
But I don’t know if we can survive this.

Excellent book
I’m really enjoying the Single in Seattle series. It’s wonderful to read about the children from the In Seattle series now all grown up and getting their HEA’s. This time it’s Stella’s turn, she’s a strong minded/willed woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. When she meets Gray she likes what she sees despite the age difference. Likewise, Gray is driven guy who takes one look at Stella and just melts, she’s his and he’ll do everything he can to make it a reality. Overall I loved this book, I did feel the “Scandal” could have been more and for me I wanted a definitive conclusion to it. I wanted to know exactly what the outcome was. I’m bloodthirsty that way. That aside, this book is a wonderful addition to the series. I can’t wait to read the next book. The narration as always is excellent and brings the book to life.

Not what she expected
She definitely did not expect the man who would make her knees a little weaker and the breath halt in her lungs. He would give her the balance she needed and a man strong enough to help soothe her need to step out on her own. The Scandal has everything you could possibly imagine and Kristen Proby is a master at delivering characters that touch your heart.

Great story
Wow I don’t even know where to start with this review. I absolutely loved this book. I now think Stella is one of my favorite heroins. I loved absolutely everything about her from her independence to her sass to her wit and charm and to her huge heart. And as strong and as independent as she was, she was absolutely beautiful in her moments of vulnerability.
Gray, oh yes hot, sexy alpha Gray and an attorney on top of it!
I loved the narrators on this one, I always love going back to the Montgomery family not to mention spending some time with Nate and Jules. This was classic KP and a 5 star read for me!

A beautiful addition to the series!
I've loved the entire Seattle series so far, and am especially enjoying this second generation. I was so excited to see Nate and Jules again, but you don't need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one.
This story of instalove brings together Stella and Grayson, who have undeniable chemistry despite their age gap. The steam is off the charts in this one, but all of the characters are so lovable, especially the neighbor kid who will steal your heart.
Just a heads up: I went into this book thinking it was a marriage of convenience, but the only wedding that takes place is a drunken joke in Vegas that leads to how the main characters initially meet...so go in with a smile and you'll love the book as much as I did.

Nice addition to the series
I really enjoyed Gray and Stella's story. The attraction was quick for both of them. The chemistry between the two of them was hot and I loved that they just went for it. There love story was easy for them until Stella gets upset over what I thought was a little immature of her. There is the little angst of the story. I also loved that her family helped her see the errors of her way. It was a fun read and the narration was well done.

Instalove and age gap romance
The Scandal is the second book in the Single in Seattle in series which is the second generation of the "with me in Seattle" characters. You know when you fall in love with characters and a family and you just want more? That's what this is and we are getting more and more from the kids.
The kids are all grown up and living their lives. They are in their twenties and all successful in their own rights, but sometimes you just make a wee bit of a mistake while drinking in Vegas with you BFFs and that brings you to your HEA in a roundabout way. That is Stella's story and she's sticking to it!
I’m not always a fan of instalove, but can appreciate it. But I did enjoy it here with the older Grayson and younger Stella. Stella is a spitfire and balanced out Grayson. They both love their family fiercely and I liked that connection for them. I liked the group mentality we have going on amongst the friends/family and the way they all fight for one another. I also liked how Grayson and Stella went to bat when the other needed it, but it seemed kind of weird after only a week of knowing one another. I suppose if you know, you know.
I listened to the audio and thought the narrators portrayed the characters in a believable way, but I imagined a different voice for Grayson. Lance Greenfield just didn't 100% sell me, although I wasn't the biggest fan, I was still entertained by him and it didn't take me out of the story. Emma Wilder, on the the other hand, totally brought Stella to life. She became her character and I enjoyed her performance.
Overall, a quick listen that was all about the instalove. If that's your jam, I think you will enjoy this one. And if you liked the "With Me in Seattle" series, it's nice to revisit our original couples and their kids.

I loved Stella & Gray's chemistry from the very beginning. I especially loved their first date because it felt so real and it really helped me with the quick love story. They spent a night just enjoying each others companies and getting to know each other. I also loved her family and her BFF so much. The drama at the end was a little over the top but thankfully it didn't take too long to get resolved. I also loved the bonus epilogue, it made me want to listen to the original With Me in Seattle Series again.
The narration was good. Lance Greenfield is a favorite of mine!

Another great addition to this series
I'm enjoying this series which is following the second generation of the couples from the With Me in Seattle series. We get to see the updates on the original couples plus their children now who are grown. Stella is Nate and Jules daughter and she meets Gray when she needs a lawyer to help her get a divorce from a quickie marriage to one of her friends. I'm not going to spoil the story with more details but this is really worth a credit. Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield are wonderful narrators. I can't wait for the next book.

The Scandal
Stella meets Grayson when she needs an attorney to annulment because of a drunken night in Vegas with her best friend, before he can get married to the love of his life.
I loved the With Me in Seattle series, Stella is Nate and Jules daughter from that series. I love that we’re getting the second generation because we still get glimpses of some of our favourite characters from that series. It feels full circle and more well rounded we get family and a sense of more with this series.
Grayson a little bit older than Stella but that never came up for them. To other people it was a big thing but to them all they saw was each other. I like that Grayson helps out his neighbour, I like that he is in contact with his family. We kind of see that theme throughout the whole book family is very important to both of them and the fact that they incorporate each other into their families even at such an early stage warmed my heart.
Now we have to talk about the sparks!! Hello my goodness, the things he wants to do to her in an elevator will make you blush.
I just thoroughly enjoyed this book and narration is perfection it really brought each of these characters their own voice, I can’t wait for more.

Love Stella & Gray
I loved, loved, loved Stella and Gray! The Scandal is the second book in the Single In Seattle series from Kristen Proby which is a spin off from the With Me In Seattle series. It’s all about the kids of the original characters now and reading the series is like having a catch up with old friends.
The story is funny and sweet with a nice dose of hot and spicy. There is a slight age gap between Stella and Gray which causes some disapproval from Stella’s father, but he soon realizes that Gray cares for Stella very much. There are plenty of fun side characters and conflicts between Stella and Gray are resolved fairly quickly.
It’s so great to catch up with the Montgomery clan and to find out what the next generation is doing to make their mark in the world. I’m really enjoying this new series and excellent narration with this new story.
