Summary

Following the death of her father, CeCe D'Aplièse finds herself at breaking point. In desperation, she decides to flee England and discover her past; the only clues she has are a photograph and the name of a woman pioneer who lived in Australia over 100 years ago. When CeCe finally reaches the Red Centre of Australia, she begins the search for her past. With help from those she meets on her journey, CeCe begins to believe that this wild, vast continent could offer her a sense of belonging.

The best sister so far

In my opinion this is the best so far. Really engaging and thoroughly researched storyline, believable characters and beautifully narrated. Am really quite sad I've finished the book although my dogs who have had to trek for many a mile while I'm glued to the audio book are pretty glad to rest their weary paws. Feel like I've lost my favourite teddy bear now am up-to-date with the sisters. Wonder how long before No. 5 surfaces?

Absolutely wonderful!

Lucinda smashed it as usual! Loved CeCe’s story more than I thought I would, as my impression of her in the Shadow Sister was not the best. I wish, as with the other books, that the story would continue. I never listen to the little preview of the next sister, as I want to start every audiobook with a clean slate, but I already cannot wait to meet Tiggy!

Sisters of the Sky.

Fantastic 4th bnook in the 7 sisters series. Also would be a excellent stand alone book as this is a story within a story. Takes us finally to the heat of Australia into a earlier world. Superb book. Can't wait for the next one.

Brilliant

What a marvellous story- I loved it and was disappointed when it ended, Maybe there will be a sequel - I do hope so. The narrators were both excellent- so many different accents. I found it very emotional at times and the way Lucinda Riley describes the scenery, especially in Australia, was wonderful.

Best narrators of the series so far

It’s good that Audible decided against using the terrible French accents which detracted from the previous two books. The story contains some interesting aspects of Australian history and culture but was very long and rambling - it was hard to see the point of the whole episode in Thailand, apart from the laughable link to the cursed pearl toward the end, but maybe this will become clear in future books in the series. The character of Kitty, like that of Flora in the previous book, didn’t live up to expectations - she is hyped up as a great female pioneer but is often conventional or inconsistent in her actions and actions. I’m just about hanging in with this series as I’m curious about the mysterious seventh sister, the true identity of Pa Salt and whether or not he is actually dead!

An Amazing Series

Please I beg you if you haven't already started this series of books, to read them! I am entranced by the stories of all the sisters and having just read The Pearl Sister the thought of having to wait for the next book is very sad. If you start reading the enjoy!

It doesn't disappoint!

Where does The Pearl Sister rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very near my top of the list.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character, CeCe, as I identified with her immensely.

Which character – as performed by Stephanie Racine and Rehanna MacDonald – was your favourite?

I loved both CeCe and Kitty. The narrators where perfect.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh my God yes! I did cry a lot. Which is great, it meant I was really feeling the story.

Any additional comments?

Read the entire series! Read all her books! Lucinda Riley rocks!

Enthralling couldn’t put it down

I have read or rather listened to all of Lucinda’s books and this latest has not failed.
So many twists and turns. I assume the last chapter is a snifter of the next sister Tigi

Beautiful!

I have read all of Lucinda Riley's books and all of this series and this was my very favorite. And to be honest, I was least excited about this one because of CeCe's personality in the other books. But I think it is because of that - her growth and transformation through this beautiful novel that I loved it that much more. Thank you, Lucinda, and the terrific narrators, for this treasure. Best I have read in a while!
My only criticism is the book's cover has a picture of someone who looks nothing like CeCe- which kind of misses the point of the whole book.

Wonderful series

I love this unusual series! I can’t wait to listen to the nextsister’s story or learn the mystery of why the sisters were brought together.

Another wonderful story of the 7 sisters (or 6)

First of all, Celino is aboriginal/asian etc etc. and talks about her dark unruly curls and her flat nose. So who is this woman on the cover? The "Pearl Sister" is C so it should look like her. Minor point but it bugged me. I loved this book but the layers of generations got a little trying to keep track of. I don't want to give anything away. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to Tiggy's story.

Slow start but got better

Almost stopped listening as the start was very slow and found it hard to get into . Didnt like the narraters voice for the male caracters and this took awhile to get used to. Not as good as the previous books Shame .But still worth a credit to follow the seven sisters .

5 hours in and I'm still disinterested

OK. Sigh. The readers are better than 1 of the previous, I still liked #1 the best and of Lucinda's books I'll call The Light Behind the Window and The Girl on the Cliff my favorites.

I'm nearly 5 hours in and I really don't care. At least tell us a little more about Pa Salt and Ma. I feel apathetic towards these young women. I waited 8 months for this and it's blah.

I'm jumping off and asking for my credit back.

Not my favourite

I almost gave up on this book because of the awful blasphemy - so unnecessary and very offensive

The Pearl Sister

My favorite book in this series so far. CeCe was a character I had not really liked or embraced before I listened to this book. Came to love her as the character developed. Loved the backstory in Australia.

So far the best of the series!

Absolutely loved this book!
The narrators where amazing! The Scottish ascent I never wanted to shut off!
The story line came back up from what it was in book 3, I found that one lacking.
Another great read from Lucinda!
