Summary
USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Jewel E. Ann returns with an addictive new adult romance about a young woman who discovers years of Sunday sermons didn’t prepare her for the many lessons of the crude and sexy man who is now her boss.
It's official.
I'm 18 and a young woman with endless possibilities, on my way to reunite with my mom in Colorado after five years apart - she had a little weed incident in Nebraska.
At the airport, she springs the news on me...she's leaving for a month of job training. And me? I'm left on my own in the basement she's renting from the fisherman, a.k.a. her landlord who lives upstairs.
He's 10 years older than me. Never wears a shirt. And makes it hard to remember all the things I learned at Christian Academy.
Did I mention he’s also my new boss?

Fantastic!
The Naked Fisherman is a wonderful slow burn, age gap romance with angst, heartache and heat. I was instantly hooked on the storyline, then fell in love with the characters, their sizzling chemistry, and their fun banter. And I must applaud the fantastic narrator who brought the story to life. I highly recommend it!

Bring on part 2!
There is something about the writing style of Jewel E Ann that totally absorbs me. I am not sure what it is, but you would think I would know better than to listen while I am supposed to be sleeping. Yes, it kept me awake just so I could know what was going to happen. This story has a little bit of everything. Age gap romance, boss-employee, naive virgin, and an internal fight with religious beliefs all wrapped up into a "meant to be" story. Reese is 18, newly graduated and taking a year off from college, much to the chagrin of her overbearing grandparents. Now taking the summer to live with her mother, she is going to have a whole new perspective on the world opened up to her. Living in the basement of Fisher's house, she is taken with the older, handsome, experienced man. And despite fighting their feelings, the chemistry is unmistakable. This fated couple is addicting. Fisher is hard to like and impossible not to love. He is a jerk, there is no question about it, but he carries his own issues that are slowly coming to light. Reese is dying to be an adult, and her struggle to be mature is just frustrating. Plus the relationships of the secondary characters is relevant and intriguing. Getting to know both Reese's mom and her grandparents sheds so much light on her psyche. I am hooked on the story and can't wait for the second part.
Tia Rider just enhances this story. Her fabulous narration is on point with all the characters and I just love her voice. It's rich and holds the exact emotional push-pull to make the story come alive. A better casting choice could not have been made.

The Naked Fisherman
My first book of this author.
I really liked the story. Bit different to most others.
You have the religious 18 year old vergin and the 28 year old manwh*re.
In a twisted way they have instant attraction.
Because of the cliffhanger, it's necessary to listen to book 2, so I know if they'll have a future together.

Great beginning to a forbidden romance
Reece and Fisher are an unlikely couple. She's eighteen, and he's twenty-eight. She's sheltered by her grandparents, who she lived with after her father died and her mother went to prison. Reece is raised with religious and moral beliefs.
Fisher is Reece's mother's landlord. Fisher will be watching out for Reece while her mother is away. When Reece meets Fisher, he's just gotten out of the shower and is wearing only a towel that he has no qualms with lowering to near indecent levels around her. Now, when I started reading, based on this scene, I expected a particular type of story, but I got so much more unexpected.
Granted, I initially struggled with the two MCs. Reece's religion has shaped her worldview, so she struggles with inner turmoil for "lusting" after Fisher. However, Fisher doesn't make things easy for either of them. He's flirty and forward and knows he shouldn't keep pushing the envelope, but he just can't contain himself.
I won't say much more, but it does end on a cliffhanger, and I need book two, stat!
Narrated entirely by Tia Rider, and she did a fantastic job narrating.

OH MY HEART....THIS BOOK SLAYED ME - SWOON CITY
There was literally NOTHING I didn't love about this first part of Jewel's duet! It has been a long time since I couldn't put a book down. Reese and Fisher are fabulous characters and the storyline is compelling. The angst is real and not forced which is my favorite kind....I laughed, I swooned, I hurt and the entire time I didn't want it to end. When I hit "to be continued" I nearly screamed. Bring on part two :)
My favorite Jewel book is A Place Without You and I have to say, this is right up there with that one for me. Sorry other Jewel faves but you are getting bumped down a bit to make room for this gem.

Emotional and intense
Such a misleading title, lol. But I knew that before diving in, haha.
This is actually my first read by Jewel E. Ann, and quite honestly, for a big portion of the book I was on the fence. Yes, Reese Capshaw is barely an adult, just having turned eighteen, so she is allowed to be childish from time to time. But having been raised by her overly conservative, strict catholic grandparents for the last five years, left its mark. She is naïve and, well, bigoted at times. And the times she called him “the naked fisherman” in her head were innumerous and almost drove me up a tree, lol.
But then came the last few chapters and with that a glimpse at the bigger picture. And I started to become entirely enamored with the story. Suddenly, my heart couldn’t stop pitter-pattering and my eyes couldn’t stop growing wet. I’m captivated. Enthralled. The tension (holy dirty talk!), emotion, and angst were high in this book, and I’m absolutely excited to find out how it all will culminate in the second part of this duet!
Tia Rider did an amazing job conveying every emotion the characters felt, giving each of them a distinctive voice, and generally enhancing the story and making it an even more intense experience.

Reese & Fisher
Story: 4.5 ⭐️
Steam: 4 🔥 smut is mostly a long game of just the tip but its prominent throughout the book and it’s A+👌🏻
Audio: 5 🎧
This book was so intense! So many emotions and so much angst. At first I felt like Reese was SO YOUNG but the author does an amazing job of showing her journey to growing up. The tension between her and Fisher is palpable throughout the entire book and I’m excited to see where they go from here!

What an amazing book! It took my right back to when I was 18 and experiencing this first hand. The writing and feels are all excellent and the narration couldn't have been better!

Wow
‘𝐎𝐡, 𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 … 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭? 𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮?‘
Well, JEA strikes again. I won’t lie. The first half of the book conflicted me. I wanted to keep reading, I wanted to understand the hype, but my brain just would not process it.
Why did everyone rave about this book?
But then I got invested. And I kept listening. And I started to understand. The story itself was thought provoking, the characters stuck in a conflict of moral decisions. There was no gray, only white or black, and it made things very complicated, because life is nothing but grays.
This gave me such ‘unrequited’ vibes, but in a complex way. I always felt like Reese just felt more. But that could simply be bc I was only hearing her voice, and seeing the fisherman’s actions through her eyes.
Whatever it was, the way this ended, I am beyond ready to move onto book two.
