Summary

Having worked for Southern Service Paws for a few years now, I like to think I’m prepared for just about any client meeting under the sun. I am dead wrong.

The day I meet with single dad Jacob Broaden about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons.

  1. Always set my alarm clock.
  2. Single dads are way hotter than I previously thought.
  3. It is possible to go from fantasizing about kissing someone to wishing they would be run over by a truck in a matter of two minutes.

Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself - one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven.

Too bad this guy is so far out of my league that I shouldn’t even be allowed to enter the game. Jake doesn’t seem to get that memo, though. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t....

A family.

The Match is a feel-good romantic comedy! Perfect for listeners who enjoy a sizzling romance without explicit content.

A perfect read!!!

This was such an incredible read and right up my alley! It brightened up my day, made my chores time really fun and I found it hard to separate from my headphones lol :)
It was sweet, fun, lighthearted with serious moments mixed in in perfect balance. The characters were lovable and real, the pace was great, the story flowed perfectly and made sense, the banter and chemistry were incredible, the supporting characters wonderful and well depicted… I just loved so much about this listen :) A fun and lovely read!
I found myself lol-ing and with a smile plastered to my face for almost the entire ride. I also felt for the characters as if they were real and found myself carrying about them and rooting for them with all my heart.
The narrator was on point and really brought the story to life! I’m not sure if I would have gotten all the nuances reading it on my own.
Highly recommend!

Such a cute fun story!

Love Sarah Adam’s. It’s so refreshing to have clean romances as they’re hard to find!! The narration was spot on and so entertaining. The perfect pairing for this book. Can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series and so glad to have found this author. Her writing is hilariously clever. Loved it!

A great sweet romance with an equally great performance by Connie Shabshab

This audiobook was fantastic! The story was well written with lots of humor and southern sweetness. Evie is one admirable character that is the only child of rich society parents who have basically disowned her because she refuses to a marriage of convenience that will benefit her parents. She is building a life for herself, living humbly, training service dogs with her friend and surrogate mother Jo who owns the business. She has epilepsy and intermittent seizures but her service dog allows her to live independently. Jake, a successful architect, meets her after his daughter who has epilepsy sets up an appointment for a service dog. He is still trying to cope with his daughter’s illness and abandonment by her mother a year ago. Evie and Jake are attracted but have a rocky start. The story of their relationship is sweet and filled with a lot of Evie’s southern humor. Her controlling parents and his former wife causes them major problems later in the book. I would highly recommend the book. Connie Shabshab brings the characters to life with a great performance.

Interesting Story but Narration was a No-Go

I tried but could not make it through because of the narration, especially the male voice. The story sounded interesting, maybe I need to read the book!

Strong female character and wonderful romance

The female lead of this story’s has epilepsy. She grew up a rich Charleston girl with domineering parents who had high expectations for her life. She walked away and shows us how she handled it all. Throw in a flailing single dad with troubles if his own, and you have an amazing story that left me rooting for them both. I was interested in understanding her condition, but I didn’t know how
much I would end up learning because the story was so much fun. Worth the credit.

Dull

If you think adult abstinence is romantic, this is the romance novel for you. Cute but not great.

Such a cute book!

Loved the story, and the message. Dogs are always make a smile on my face.
I was dissapointed that they didn't use a male narrator for jake's parts like usually, but she was great in the rest of the book..
